Please help to make the lives of school children with CF easier, not more difficult. Please allow them to be as normal as they possibly can. Their lives are difficult enough already. It is necessary for persons with CF to take enzyme supplements with everything they ingest or their food will not digest properly. It is a harmless supplement that cannot hurt anybody.Sep 18th, 2009Someone signed.

Hopefully by the time my 1-year old daughter with CF is in school, this will be a non-issue.REPORT COMMENTS

Although my school has not forced us to use the nurse's office, this law is imperative to all people with CF. Independence and self compliant behavior will not be learned with such rules in place.REPORT COMMENTS

If this law was in place 10-15 years ago, my son wouldn't have had to 'sneak' his enzymes in the bathroom. He would not go to the office and wait in line for his enzymes.REPORT COMMENTS

As the parent of a child with cf, I support David's Law. For persons with cf, taking enzymes with meals is the same as putting your glasses on to read. They should be able to do this themselves during their school lunch. Persons with cf are required to take enzymes with every meal for life...normal routine. Schools should recognize their normal routine. The enzymes are not harmful if accidentally ingested or taken by someone for whom they were not prescribed. They are digestive enzymes. Please pass David's Law.REPORT COMMENTS

What is the problem with this...it is simply just like any other license that we obtain...only thing they will probably require a fee to obtain the license...I have 3 of my 4 children diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis...believe me...this should not even be an issue to have to mess with...In order to eat a meal...we take enzymes...not gonna go ask permission to do so...this is such a no brainer!REPORT COMMENTS

I agree wholeheartedly as my child lost a lot of lunch period time due to wasted time in the nurses office to take pills, he knew how to take himself. It also has a social effect on cf children as they have to come late to lunch, due to having to go to the nurses office. Meanwhile, all the other children are already seated, socializing and halfway through with their lunch by then.REPORT COMMENTS
