I guess Congress don't care about the inmates dying in Lexington Ky. FMC. If did something would have been done about it by now. We the people put the Congressman in office. After they get there they forget about the little people that need their help. Maybe we need to go up on the hill were they are at. Then they will hear our cry for help for our love ones who aren't getting the medical treatment they need and for the ones who are dying there. Congress do your job. Brenda Mitchell at 1630 V St. S.E. Washington DC.

Give them medical attention PLEASE. Not to mention let the non violent offenders out. There are so many other alternatives are are A LOT cheaper than to house a inmate, as well as keep families together! This is hurting out economy housing these white collar criminals. Again there are other alternatives, that are A LOT cheaper, and needs to be taken seriously for once! Balance the buget.....this is a good place to start!

I asked Dr.Lima the psycologist at FMC if he would help inmate Kim, a Korean inmate with his headaches? He refused and Kim committed suicide, this was on or around 9 years ago.

If our government is going to cage its citizens it has an obligation to treat them humanely. Animals have PETA and the SPCA; why don't our loved ones have their own government looking out for them?

The supposed "doctors" at Lexington Federal Medical Center don't care. They have no regard for the sick, and have violated their Hippocratic Oath to practice medicine ethically and honestly. I have heard inmates say that medical attention is SLOW and at times completely LACKING at this so-called FMC. Kidney Stones are ignored, skeletal injuries are left untreated, symptoms are ignored. Inmates go days, months and even weeks in pain, suffering not only their disease but the ineptness, apathy, and cruelty of the Prison's administration. This place is nothing but a torture chamber for the sick, a clear violation of the 8th Amendment - cruel and unusual punishment. And really there would be huge medical malpractice suit were these not powerless inmates who have a hard time "proving" their cases and that the care is actually subpar since they can't go anywhere else or do anything about their condition. The prison controls their every move! Most inmates there DO NO EVEN HAVE AIR CONDITIONING. It gets to 100F in the summer. Even animals aren't left in the heat like that. This place is a clear example of how low America has come in regards to humanity and ethics. Budgets and cost savings are more important than saving lives there. It's sickening and appalling. This place needs to get closed yesterday!

In September of 2011 my 24 year old son died while an inmate at Haynesville Correctional Center in Virginia. He may still be alive had he'd been taken serious by the medical staff when he complained of pain so bad that he couldn't walk to the bathroom. Why they didn't believe him is beyond me. He suffered from ulcerative colitis and had 2 major surgeries within 2011. His colon was literally removed so I can't understand why he was accused of faking his pain. He called me from the infirmary begging me to convince the Nursing Supervisor that he needed the hospital. He died 21 days later in ICU. This haunts me everyday, his release date was September 13,2011 and he never was released because he was too ill. He was my first born, who made a mistake in life, drugs, wrong associations, but he shouldn't have paid for these very common crimes with his life.

contact JCAHO (joint Commission) and report them..supposedly all medical facilities in the BOP are to be accredited by JCAHO...if they get complaints they will go in and do a random survey..if this facility is truly JCAHO accredited as the BOP says...they should not be getting away with this kind of treatment
