The soldiers have depended on those dogs for their safety. They have formed a bond that should not be broken, senselessly. Let the soldiers bring their dogs home!REPORT COMMENTS

Dog fighting, poaching, illegal trafficking of animals--all of this happens because some fool is getting money out of it. But I fail to see who the hell is benefiting from this! Even if there was profit to be gained from such a practice, cruelty against exceptional, canine veterans--no, ANY animals or people, is in no way justifiable. These dogs are feeling, living beings and have the base right to be treated as such. Let's get our act together, and do the right thing, everybody.REPORT COMMENTS

Military dogs are veterans just like our soldiers, to kill them is evil. Many US families would love to give them the loving homes they deserve.REPORT COMMENTS

Dogs have emotions just like human beings. Stop treating animals used to detect bombs simply as gear! If you don't want to bring them back, then don't bring them over. Anything less is simply arrogantly stupid.REPORT COMMENTS

Until president Bill Clinton passed Robby's Law in Nov. 2000, NO military dog could be adopted and all were put down. "Deem suitable for adoption" means that the temperament of the dog and or the dog may suffer from an extreme case of PTSD that has altered it to a point where the dog can only be placed in a home that can safely support that it's needs. Many of these dog's have been trained as lethal weapons and their triggers are unique to the service (in other words, "go get 'em" is probably not the verbage used but rather quiet signaling that must remain secured). There is a waiting list for eligible veterans to be adopted. (see: http://blog.petsforpatriots.org/about-military-working-dog-adoptions/) Instead of political trashing, I think setting up a foundation to support a refuge for this class is the correct way to honor their service.REPORT COMMENTS
