Most of you in congress have never even spent an hour with a poor person. Most are not lazy, and most are not educated but most all would tell you that they have tried many options and have come to a dead end. Why because of the poor started off with good teachers but family placed little value of education. So like father, like son. Some of the poor have health, physical and mental issues. Some had very little guidance in choosings a job that fit their personality and abilities. Yes , some broke the law as a young person and can never erase that even after paying their debt. They keep on paying , and paying. And some made wrong choices. For that they are suffering their own conquences. But most of the poor are in the above catagories. So the next time you want to build a bridge to nowhere, use the Gov. jet to tour Europe on "business", go to lavish coperate functions as just a "guest", provide a pork barrell project so you get votes, remember the poor in your district.REPORT COMMENTS

I played this game for real almost exactly 2 years ago. Only recently have i been making enough money to get off of food stamps, and I was on welfare for a month over Christmas 2010. I was employed as a Journeyman Glazier previously, so it is not for a lack of skills. I fell victim when i lost my job to a sales company in my industry that drained the rest of my savings before i started my current job as a temp worker at minimum wage. It took me 2 years to work my way up to shift supervisor, i consider myself very lucky. Even so, i have almost no possesions now and i save every penny i can.REPORT COMMENTS
