It is outrageous that this is taking place. If the government was really concerned with the welfare of these children, most of whom have been in orphanages since birth, then they would process these leagal adoptions and get these families home.

There has to be a way to get this terrible situation solved. These children are wasting away in an orphanage instead of living a full life with their new families. That is inhumane!!

I appreciate the government's desire to assure that the Nepalese children being adopted are, in fact, truly free to be adopted. I can understand the desire to protect children. Yet holding up these visas does not protect children in the case of these particular children -- it extends the time they have to wait for their adoptive families. I have a friend who is among these families. The daughter she adopted has spent all but a month of her life in an orphanage. In what way is she being protected by prolonging the time she is apart from her adoptive mother and the love she so desperately needs? Please, expedite the visas for these children so that they can be united with their families -- their "forever families" as we in the adoption community often call ourselves -- as soon as possible. Thank you. Rev. Erik Walker Wikstrom, proud adoptive father

I am an adopted Korean Orphan and I was blessed to be adopted into this great country at 8yrs old, and I believe Americans have the biggest hearts and I hope our government 'of the people' will do the RIGHT THING and bring these innocent Nepalese children home!
