To not bring these K9 soldiers home is a blight on the face of our military. This is a poor way to reward these K9 soldiers laying down their heart, soul and many times their life for this country. This is totally unpatriotic and unacceptable to the people of this country.

Military dogs are NOT equipment! Bring them home! They deserve the same if not more respect than our soldiers. They did not sign up to serve, yet serve and protect wholeheartedly. Bring them home!!!

Please bring our K9 heroes home and allow them to retire in peace in the country and with the people they have so valiantly served. Retiring a K9 and leaving it on foreign soil is unconscionable. We must do better than that.

Military dogs are soldiers too! Grow up and treat them in a respectful manner. Your are leaving billions of dollars in equipment over there so adding weight is just an excuse. Give the dogs valium for the flight. Civilians travel with their dogs you abuse animals just for immature excuses!!

Our military dogs should be brought back to the USA for their very deserved retirement. Our government treats them as garbage. We have laws in this country against cruelty to animals and these laws should apply to our government as well.

Military dogs are "Soldiers"! They are an"Elite" group of soldiers and highly trained military assets, these dogs even wear a uniform, which bears the American Flag, the Military Dog's "name and the Dog's Rank". (Name. Rank, Uniform.....????) Last I checked, "disposable cargo" or "equipment" is NOT given a Military Uniform, nor does the "equipment" earn military Rank. Therefor, these dogs cannot be deemed "equipment" thus meaning ....they "ARE U.S. Military Personnel. These Military Dogs are trained United States Soldiers, and highly qualified Members of the U.S. Military." Also, These animals are HEROES, They are NOT equipment. They cannot nor SHOULD NOT be LEFT BEHIND. Military Working Dogs ARE DEDICATED SOLDIERS, just like their Handlers, and all other military personnel. These Military Working Dogs put their lives on the line for their Handler, their Team, and ultimately OUR Country! Thus, they too DESERVE the HIGHEST level of Respect and the Ability to RETURN HOME. These Military Working Dogs, deserve the right to return to their "Home of Record" here in the United States of America, just like every other soldier who has been deployed. What happened to "Leave No One behind"? Or another question One should ask, "can any PERSON adequately perform the intense and elite combat related job requirements to the extent that these dogs solely do? The answer is ......absolutely, "NO". Humans CANNOT, we do NOT have the "Nose" or the ability to "Sniff" for IED's, or any other ordinances, nor can we "Sniff or Differentiate" between 50 (or more) different types of chemicals, gas, etc. All Military Dogs MUST PASS their RIGOROUS training and testing before their graduation day, but ....once they have "Graduated", just like any other military personnel, at the end of Basic Training and AIT, they are recognized as a "Soldier", then receive their Duty Station or Deployment Orders. So....next question...... When a Soldier is given an order, Is it not required for orders given to be carried out by that soldier? Specifically orders for Deployment, Especially when the orders are for distinct military personnel to be deployed during time of conflict? ( Hmmmmmm,........ So, ) If a Military Dog receives orders for Deployment along side their Handler, (as a "Team Member", to carry out "specific / detailed missions" such as searching and SNIFFING out IED's) So...wouldn't the Order, sending the Military Working Dog on a Deployment deem that MWD a "Soldier" and NOT equipment???? Considering the Military Working Dog IS an Essential & Vital member of an ELIITE and "Specialized Team "? Then in NO WAY, should our Government allow a Team Member, a Soldier, or any Military Personnel,...to BE LEFT BEHIND"! Please treat these animals with the highest regard and level of respect they so truly deserve and "Officially" grant these Military Working Dogs the recognition they have EARNED.... An official disti

ISRAEL shows compassion for their canine soldiers, and protect and care for them as they would a human soldier. The wounded canine soldiers are not left behind, ever.

It is shameful that we do not already bring home our pawed heroes. Why should our service members be forced to either put down their companions or leave them to the terrors which await after our departure. I have lived in Iran when my Husband was in the military and have also visited Turkey. I have seen first-hand how dogs are treated in these countries, ears and tails frequently cut off by children in play. Please support this bill and bring all our heroes home.

It is shameful that we do not already bring home out hero's with paws. Why should they need to be mercifully put down prior to their handlers leaving country. I have lived in Iran for two years when my Husband was in the military; & I have also visited Turkey. I saw first-hand how dogs are treated in these countries: Ears and tails cut off. We should not leave our wonderful animals in these countries and we should not kill them ourselves. I encourage you to support this bill.
