As military member I don't know what I would have done with out my R&R while i was on my year long deployment, and to take that little bit of time we get with our families is unjust. It's not right that every time something happens in congress the first people who are punished are the military members which effects their families. We volunteer out lives and time to serve and protect and we get the short end of the stick. Everyone is under the perception that we make a lot of money it used to be the only way we would make money is to deploy and now that's being effected. Who wants to be away from their families for months even years in foreign countries without having anything to show for it but a paycheck we can get stateside. R&R is our way of getting that small amount of time to be home with our families it gives us motivation and helps the time fly by. We need our R&R, better yet we deserve it.REPORT COMMENTS

You ask our military over and over again to give just a little more but you cut their R&R, suicides are up drastically, military families are asked to sacrifice when their soldier is deployed, you cut hazard pay if not actually stationed in a war zone. So not only is their loved one away for 7months to over a year but their families have to struggle to make ends meet and feed their children. How about the high paid generals etc. give up a little for the enlisted men and women who are the true soldiers.REPORT COMMENTS

My brother in law serves and its very stressful when they are only home for a week. The kids miss their daddy and would love more time with him. These men and women are serving our country so we can have Christmas with our familes the least the government can do is repay that favor by giving them more time during the holidays. I doubt O'bama would take off his high duty to serve and miss his family. God Bless all those who serve and we greatly appreciate all you do.REPORT COMMENTS
