These drugs should absolutely be banned! They are not the answer to the child's or adult's behavior or inattentiveness. They highly addictive & make EVERYTHING WORSE. Even when closely monitored by the physician, because it is so addictive, the patient very quickly builds of a resistance they the dosage constantly needs to be increased. Very often the patient doubles that dose w/o the Dr knowing & regardless of being monitored by them. This is a BUSINESS - period at the cost of the patient. Do not go this route and these drugs are just as harmful and addictive as opoids!

My granddaughter was diagnosed with ADHD and it was the wrong diagnosis. She had defiance issues that were found later after being treated for ADHD for 2 years. This seems to be a "catch-all" when the doctors have no other diagnosis to go to. Drugs are not always the answer and can lead to other problems.

These drugs are for teachers' accommodation. It is an abomination that we don't put our children first.

This drug should not be administered to any child. It will only lead to the abuse of the drug at an older age and increase to the street drugs making them addicts. We in the United States have NO system to take care of the addicts we create!!! We only treat them like scum, give them NO skills to improve or die. The addict only wants to be normal, but how can they be when it far easier to GET the drug to GET high than to GET treatment!!!!!!!!!! This is absurd. And look at the prime locations/hotspots. The government should be beefing up rehab programs in DE, PA, and NJ why BECAUSE of the access to the purest Heroin in the country. That is in Philly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Waiting list for the miserable state rehabs and then they put them on an addicting drug to GET off the DRUG they are addicted to......... Sad, and this is killing our children so you need to wake up this IS and has been an epidemic for YEARS it did not just occur!!!!!!!!!!!

Our children are depending on us to defend them. But we give them stronger drugs than they can get on the street. No wonder we have a drug problem.

Have not had a child on Ritalin, however, my eldest son was prescribed Zoloft for depression when he was in high school. He is now 30 and addicted to Heroin. Before Zoloft he had no desire to take any medication. If I had known that this could lead him to opiates, I would have never allowed him to take the medication. There are so many narcotics hurting us all.

Hello! From experience as a Mom the drugs given to my children caused many side affects. It is known when these drugs were made they knew of these side affects and the FDA allowed them in the system. These are very harmful to their bodies and mixed with other drugs can cause many other illnesses. Please stop allowing our children to be hurt. There are other alternatives to be allowed as a free country to make those choices. Thank you, Chaplain Rosana E. Price

When I was 7 years old, I was put on Ritalin for a little over a month. I wouldn't have known it was about that long if someone didn't tell me. What ritalin did to me, i can only relate to a bad acid trip, but constantly. I dreamed of meeting the devil, I saw demonic visions of people that I am very close to, I wanted to run my head into a wall to end the torture that I was experiencing. I guess I was experiencing some sort of psychosis. Anyways, ever since then, I have become determined to end this drug. Sign this petition with me, if my story doesn't convince you, i doubt that anything will, because I believe I owe the people that got me off of that drug my life, because if it wasn't for them, i believe that it would have killed me, or put me into a mental hospital. Please sign this petition to prevent what my story with the drug could have been, be some poor child's story. Here is an image that horrifies me to this day, showing the effects of the drug, and how they can destroy the mind and body of a child. http://imgur.com/KMnaZI9

We told our son's doctor that there was a history of addiction in my family. She assured us that the drugs she was prescribing were "not habit forming." Soon after we learned that my son had been selling his prescription to get strong opiates which has lead to heroin. I will always regret listening to this doctors advice and introducing ADD meds into my sons system. Our gorgeous son is now a full blown heroin addict with no health insurance and no help in sight. He's been to 7 rehabs, many half way houses, he's tried methadone and suboxone, but to no avail. He's near overdoses 3 times, and we live in fear of losing him, although it already feels as if he is gone. Our hearts are broken.
