Homework does not supplement learning. It detracts from it by not giving kids necessary time to refuel and get ready for the next day. It should be completely banned. -

The homework practice should be a voluntary practice for extra credit, but should NOT be mandatory.REPORT COMMENTS

Students shouldn't have homework school should be a place where work is done not a home. It is breaking families apart and making more kids drop out of school. They give the homework that kids don't known and if they do it wrong or miss one problem they get detention which isn't right!REPORT COMMENTS

As a teacher and parent of two children (one with ADHD), homework does not help children! My child cries and fights with me daily to do his homework. This is NOT how I want to spend time with my kids. I'd rather spend time teaching them life skills so they can take care of their needs when they grow older and independent.REPORT COMMENTS

Homework decreases productivity for students. Just ask yourself, how much more time would students have to do more productive things if they didn't have homework? Meaning jobs to help support a low income family, or applying for colleges. It is nearly impossible to do extracurricular activities such as sport with 6 or more classes. Say you sleep for 8 hours, go to school for another 8 hours, then have a extracurricular activity after school for again another 4 hours, leaving you with 4 hours of the day to do homework. This can only be possible if a human being required no sleeper rest what so ever. 4 hours left for meaningless homework teaching students nothing but stress and anxiety.REPORT COMMENTS

7-8 hours of school is enough. We don't need to add more hours to that on homework. Homework is no fun for the students and teachers and gives them both more work, when they could be doing something better with there life.REPORT COMMENTS

Homework is just down-right horrible, homework started as a punishment THIS MEAN WE ARE GETTING PUNISHED FOR NOTHING. They also say that it destroys the quality of life and can give several negetive effects to young minds, they also cause conflict between families.REPORT COMMENTS

There are no studies that show that homework helps students in anyway. In countries like Finland where they test at the top of the scale teachers give virtually no homework. Homework is killing our home life and it's going to force us to leave public school and homeschool our children.REPORT COMMENTS

My daughter and I are both overwhelmed and would love to have more quality time/ family time. 8hrs in Class is more than enough. When we as adults come home from work we would like to unwind and relax when kids come home from school they need to be able to do the same thing. It's not fair.REPORT COMMENTS

My sons were A students in our old school which moved and was non Common Core and had no homework! They thrived ! Two years in this system and they are somehow failing and struggling and I feel it's just a reason to line school pockets for federal IEP and Title 1 programs which made my sons fall even further behind! Now he has weekend homework and spent 9.5 hours doing it as he would had gotten his lunch period taken away! What is school prison? No more homework! If the schools can't teach what they need to know in 30 hours a week something is wrong! Why am I at the day's end needing to spend hours doing flash cards and signing into school portals to do yet three more hours of work! My sons and I are grumpy and sleep deprived and have no more family time! This has to stop NOW! In NH IT IS BEYOND COMPREHENSION, NO time for sports or Boy Scouts or church? Please do something before we go insane!REPORT COMMENTS
