I do like the idea of Homework, but I refuse doing it because I do not understand it. It's not that I'm dumb or I don't pay attention, it's just that my teacher does not teach it in a way that I understand. All she does is project notes from a book, that's all she does. We copy the notes and she expects us to understand it. It's just like trying to read a book in Braille, but not given any steps to on how to properly read it. I learn nothing in those sets of notes and I'm expected to solve different types of questions. In those notes it's usually a problem that is being solved, but shows no description of what is happening. How do you expect me to solve problems without the steps. She does not even say or show us anything on how to solve more difficult problems in that kind of problems. -

Homework is the #1 reason why my friends and I are stressed. We're already bombarded by a around 4 tests a week to study for and we still have to do homework. I have to wake up at 7 to go on my bus and end up getting home at 5. That is 10 hours of my day devoted to school and doing work. 10 hours out of a 12 hour day + 2 hours of homework a day. My entire day is spent doing homework with no free time except on the weekends where I have 4 hours of homework. Please end homework. All my friends also agree with me that they would also be relieved of stress if homework was abolished.REPORT COMMENTS

Honestly we need more free time after the 8 hours of school. The smartest school in the world gives students no homework and less time in school. and it really does makes scenes because if they are trying to teach us something important after 7 hours our brains will shut down. My daughter comes home complaining that she thinks her teachers give her too much homework and get's really frustrated with that. I think the same thing, why homework isn't 7 hours of school enough? "Oh well, they need to practice what they learned at home". The teacher fricken makes them practice the whole class! Homework is honestly the core reason I feel extremely stressed in School. Why should I have to come home after a long,stressful 7 hour day of school only to have at least an hour of homework? After school, I'm exhausted and hungry. Plus, sometimes I'm up all night doing it because some days, every ****ing teacher decides to give you an hour worth of homework. Okay. Homework is completely unnecessary. If someone wasn't paying attention, THEN they should get extra help, but not for every single person in the room. Look at Norway. They got rid of homework, and now the overall grades in the entire COUNTRY is higher. It's stresses out smart kids who don't know if they're doing it right or not, and they overthink to the point that they don't understand it anymore. Inextremly angeted and disappointed at the huge homework load my 9 year old is getting. We don't have any free time not even on weekends and holidays. She is attending Chicago Public school. It's truly sad that kids staring ages 6, are at home sitting and crying over their homework. We parents don't have time to test too, since we have to help our children. My daughter can't attend any other fun activities because she is overwhelmed. All is this heavy load just ads dislike towards school! Our children don't have tins to bed children and to play and have fun. You better see what's going on and listen to the parents and children and do what's right. Children should do the work at school and be free after it, or have a very small amount of homework. Dont overwhrlm them and stress them at This early age. I hope my voice gets heard. I am a student in the 11th grade in a school in the U.S.A. I have forgotten what It feels like to have 'free time'. I wish I could go outside and sit among the blades of grass in my backyard, admiring that one bush that will soon grow into one of those beautiful trees. I wish I could just do Nothing until I wasn't tired anymore. I wish I didn't have to worry about homework all the time; that there was a time when I could talk with my dad and mom for once instead of doing homework.
