End the conspiracy against this venerable American institution; there would be no problems to keep it solvent - and working in the interests of the American public as it has since before the federal republic! There's a "progressive tea party" now, called #Occupy, and it will be more and more holding our representatives to account on issues like this one.Jan 14th, 2012Someone from San Tan Valley, AZ writes:
Please save the US Postal Service. We are watching. The people WILL revolt against Congressional non-actions.REPORT COMMENTS

The post office is a public service started by Benjamin Franklin to "bring the country together" and provide access to information nationwide. The "business model" those on the right are pushing is a ruse to privatize the post office. Let's abolish the 2006 legislation and restore the post office to its functional and iconic status.REPORT COMMENTS

The USPS is an historical institution that has served this country well for many, many years. It's ridiculous that we impose such a heavy burden on it and further undermine it's ability to compete fairly with Fed Ex and UPS. The concept of allowing the USPS to provide basic banking services is brilliant but I'm sure the banks will fight this tooth and nail. Lobbyists are the bane of this country. Let's pass this bill.REPORT COMMENTS

The USPS is entirely publicly funded but is being punished with ridiculous requirements for health benefits ten years out. Why? How could Congress pass such a burden on its one self supporting agency? This outrageous legislation needs to be repealed so that a valuable service can be restored to health. Support HR 1351 immediately.REPORT COMMENTS
