If we are indeed a Great Nation, we should have and exhibit the amount of critical thinking, compassion, and expertise to create accurate, legitimate, and unprejudiced criteria for allowing Syrian refugees to find safety in this country. I AM ASHAMED of the recent decision by Congress. I AM ABSOLUTELY ASHAMED OF YOU! God help you. Many of you claim this nation to be a Christian nation. Well I say you only deem it as such in a political, rhetorical sense, not in the sense of the heart. I am a Christian, and I AM ASHAMED OF YOU! If we allow Syrian refugees in this country and we become a part of their daily lives, exactly how can they be a danger to us? You are feeding into the hatred and fear of ISIS, and, are no better, if you cannot exhibit compassion and critical thinking into your decisions. Their resilience and gratitude are the most inspiring and "American" attributes a person can have. We are lucky to share our home with them.
