I brought my child to U.S. as H4 when he was 12 years old. Financing college is a struggle. Besides not being eligible for scholarship, we can't even take education loan because I am still waiting for Green Card. The problem H4 child face while waiting for Green Card backlog is unconstitutional. I strongly support this apeal to allow EAD for H4 when the principal beneficiary has I-140 approved.REPORT COMMENTS

I noticed most of dependent students are sincere, intelligent and can help America's economical growth. I do not understand why dependent student do not get any scholarship of federal student while they doing whole schooling here in America and going to give their future efforts to America. Dependent students should be treated as good as citizen students.REPORT COMMENTS

My son who did schooling in US is now doing his university in H4 visa. He is aging out soon so has applied for F1 visa. He cannot do any interships and has to simply sit at home during holidays looking at all his friends getting their invaluable experiences at reputed organizations. it is really really sad. Please approve H4 EADs for dependant children.REPORT COMMENTS

My son has been in US since the age of 3. He did his entire schooling K-12 here and when I explain to him why he cant work /intern while his other friends can, he understands what I am saying but does not get it. Why does a child who was legally admitted into US and maintained a legal status, while his parents who are also legally here and paying taxes for over 16 years, is not allowed to join any college, choose any course and pay instate fee, apply for a education loan and treated as a foreign student ? It gets more bizarre when he learns his friend who immigrated from middle east 2 years ago is now a GC holder and goes to the same college with a student loan and instate tuition. 16 years is a way too long time for a child to spend in this country and find out that he is still not an equal when compared to his friends he grew up with. Its not fair. Kids like my son and thousands of others like him need a SSN, visa to stay in this country as long as their sponsor's / parent's visa is valid with full permission to work and live fearlessly.REPORT COMMENTS

Requesting the authorities to allow intern option for H4 dependent children. As these kids will not get any federal student loans, it will be extremely helpful for them.REPORT COMMENTS

I've been in the US for close to 20 years as a dependent. I am now in college on an h4. I'm a certified EMT in my state but not able to get ead and take advantage of jobs on campus or in my town. This is really frustrating for me as well as the many others in similar situations. Something must be done.REPORT COMMENTS

Having a son who is going to face this exact situation in a year, I'm wholeheartedly adding my name to this petition. We've been here for over ten years, paying into the federal, state, social security and medicare systems as any legal resident should. The current system of aging out children of folks waiting for their priority dates to become current would definitely fall under cruel and unusual punishment, for a crime these kids did not commit. Being ineligible for any sort of federal or state-level tuition aid does hurt the bottom line of many families, even high earners. Families on H1B that are waiting for priority dates to become current have contributed to American society, and it is high time that the government recognizes our contributions and accepts us, just like our local communities do.REPORT COMMENTS

H4 EAD for Kids will greatly help for kids who are living in USA for the past 10+ years and are waiting in the green card waiting line. My Son is 18+ .He is a in HS and got accepted in 3 colleges .He scored a GPA of 3.75 and 2260 in SAT . But he is in a very miserable situation .He received letters from colleges saying he is eligible for full tuition waivers , if he had her GC . Its very hard to convince the kids from being dippressed . He always asks me the same question , how long am I going to be like this ? As he hears that all her friends are going to good colleges even with lesser scores and he has to look for cheaper college , he keeps getting more and more dippressed. The worst part , which I have not disclosed to er is about the age out . I am not sure , if he can absorb that .REPORT COMMENTS

I request to grant EAD for kids of legal immigrants and consider them as In-state for college education, as the kids are in US for most of their childhood years and educated in USA from elementary / Middle to High school. Not to forget that the legal parents paid taxes to the government living in a backlogged queue to be a permanent resident for more than a decade. This will help the kids of legal immigrant community to contribute to the economy after the education.REPORT COMMENTS
