I am the mother of an adopted baby from Guatemala. My son is now 20, but would have died in Guatemala of bronchitis if we had not adopted him at 3 months of age. Babies are being warehoused in orphanages, and this horror does even reflect the ones who die from lack of adequate parental care. I am a thirty three yr old disabled woman I've had several cps/dhs cases in San Antonio,Tx. And my parental rights, have been terminated before but I've never given up my rights Because I always wanted my kids to know that there mother and father loved them very much. I love my kids not a day goes by that I don't think about them. I am a christian that ended up marrying my husband at an early age. My husband's fought for the country and had a purple heart. This yr in 2014 I've had my mom die on my lil daughters birthday her name is Jacqueline Justice. She was born on Feb 15,2005 my son R.J (Raul John Quintero Elias was born on January 28,2000 & I had my second born child born on May 10,2003 at Lack land AFB the investigator showed me the report and begged me to stop crying because she knew and had me read the report where the paramedics were actually responsible for my son Joseph John Quintero Elias and gave me my son back. Cps opened another case after I had to go to the battered women's shelter. I needed help and no one would help me I hahave another case with dhs in Oklahoma city for my 3 month old Tyrone CSean Quintero Elias. Its at the juvenile court house after 20 hours of labor its not a criminal case. I cry out to Jesus Christ and the community to back me up I need all the help I can get. I use a four wheel walker now but four yes ago I went over and beyond for my son Patrick. It was prooven on the stand that I was still capable oftaking care of my son by the supervisor Rhonda Branton. The foster mom in 2010 Christa Geish malnourished my son even admitted that Patrick was depressed from being taken away from his grandparents. Judge Stuart ordered dhs to leave Patrick with his GPA and the caseworker Cod I Blunt and another caseworker went behind the judges back and got the head of dhs to sign an emergency removal order saying that the foster care director had signed a paper saying that my parents were a flight risk after they had previously having me sign a travel vouture when my uncle was on life support at the va. My uncle is still alive to this day. I know that life isn't always fair but I'm walking in faith and victory through Jesus Christ Plz please help a widowed disabled Us Army Ret. Wife of John Elias Jr. God knows and so do others know I am a wonderful mom. My husband isolated himself the last two yrs of our marriage he came with me to Oklahoma but went back to San Antonio TTx. I couldn't go my mom was sick but he knew he could come home anytime and I'd take care of him too. God Bless his soul and everyone who's done him wrong as well as myself. My husband's psychiatrist and mine Dr. Raymond D Potter testified in court as far as a mom I was the sole care giver of my son due to my husbands PTSD. Dr. Potterf passed away on Feb 17,2014. Only two days after my mom did. He was and is a good man he practiced in San Antonio Tax. As far as a mother I'm like iron you could stick me in the fire and I'd come out stronger. My husband and I long to adopt but the costs are so high it will be a struggle for us to afford the fees. Most families can't afford 20,000 to 50,000 dollars to adopt especially when they already have children at home. Also the wait time and time off work prevent many families from adopting. The system is failing these kids! Please fix it! Lessen the cost, shorten the wait time, make the process easier and more family friendly. It is important to protect the children but too many restrictions can also stop potential parents. There is no time to lose. These precious children are growing up alone to become damaged adults. Tomorrow is already too late for so many kids.REPORT COMMENTS
