I have lost my mother, and brother to cancer. In the last month, another brother has been diagnosed. I know all too well the pain associated with this disease. We need all tools available to fight including early detection.Apr 7th, 2012Someone from Pasadena, CA signed.

Because I did not get this information with my yearly mammograms, which I had diligently for seven years, I was diagnosed very late with advanced cancer. I have had two brain surgeries in six months for the spread of the cancer there. Stereotaxic radiation to the site after the first surgery was not able to prevent the metastasis returning within three months. Now I am trying a different chemo than the five rounds that nearly did me in two years ago. As for cost of extra imaging with dense tissue, what about the two rounds of radiation, five of chemo, months of Tykerb at $3800 a month, and now more Tykerb and lipo Doxil, not to mention two breast surgeries and axial node dissection, endless scans at several thousand each, and two craniotomies? Surely an MRI would have been cheaper a couple years before being diagnosed stage IIIc with17 of 18 lymph nodes positive!REPORT COMMENTS

My Sister is in stage IV breast cancer and this could have been easily prevented had this information been available to her early on. How many more sisters and daughters will we watch go through this before YOU act?REPORT COMMENTS
