I recently had to go to Canada to buy my insulin because I was told by my insurance that I had fallen into the gap. Walmart in Massena NY wanted to charge me over $300 for a bottle of Humalog manufactured by Lilly . I called Walmart in Cornwall Ontario and they said yes they have it and to sell it over the counter with no script it was only $25 American. What's wrong with this picture? ? Same pharmacy, same insulin produced by the same company. Just different country. This is shameful and an embarrassment to our country. I've written my senator Chuck Schumer but I doubt I'll even get a response. Tom ForgetREPORT COMMENTS

It now will cost my 26 year old type 1 diabetic son $800-$1000 PER MONTH CO-PAY for his insulin. Our only alternative is to take him off insurance all together. This is an outrage and is deeply unfair. Please take a moment and stand up for affordable insulin. What a shame that a young man who volunteered so many years advocating for diabetic rights with the American Diabetes Association can't even afford his own insulin now. #mylifeisnotforprofitREPORT COMMENTS

The costs must come down or thousands will die. I am a type 1 diabetic, and if I do not get my insulin, I die. It is that simple. Medicare part D has over a $4,000. donut hole and the two types of insulin needed cost almost $800. a month at minimum. This cannot continue.REPORT COMMENTS

Diabetes is a hard enough disease without the stress of the life saving medicine we need being unaffordable for everyone who needs it! What if it were someone you love who was in a situation where they could not afford their insulin, and you were lower middle class and couldn't help them? Would you want someone you love to be in that situation? Neither do the families of all of us out here struggling to get our insulin!REPORT COMMENTS

Something needs to be done now. My father is retired on social security and his part D is no longer covering his insulin it will cost him $800 a month for each of his 2 subscriptions. This is insane that we are letting these drug companies rise these costs so much they have taken all generic or lesser older priced forms of insulin off the market so no one even has a choice for a lower priced medicine. So many people are going to die because of their greed.REPORT COMMENTS

Insulin and other medical supplies are approaching the price of my mortgage. Do I keep my child healthy and alive or a roof over my family's head? PLEASE put the care back in health care and stop people from getting rich off our battle.REPORT COMMENTS

Yet another situation that shows a growing disregard for the very people of the country that are the HEART of what once made the United States great. This behavior is not only wrong, it is shameful, and I refuse to believe that our governing bodies do not know of it. Let the rich get richer, and watch the poor that are the reason those who have money, just get more money at the expense of lives. A business does not profit solely off of having a product or service to sell, bit makes money by the hard work and long or in recent times, ever increasing shorter hours of work that the middle class and poor do. But the ones who profit, do not see that their truly strongest asset are those they hire to work for them, they only see the 'bottom line'. Money... WE THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE used to be something this country stood tall for. Now, they are just words and the middle class and poor suffer for the chosen few. FOR SHAME on this behavior... For SHAME!REPORT COMMENTS

Hundreds of percent increase in the last 3 years when manufacturing costs remain the same is criminal. There is no explanation other than price gauging by greedy Novo Nordisk and other insulin manufacturers.REPORT COMMENTS

Anyone with Diabetes should be able to get this medication with little or no cost, you are killing people because they aren't rich enough to afford it? Where is the humanity and care this nation was built on?REPORT COMMENTS
