Wow, 6 years of service before they get full retirement benefits. Most people have to give at least 20 years and the rest of society has no pension unless they fund it themselves. Also they should have to use Obama care seeing as they voted for it (Before reading it).REPORT COMMENTS

Make sure you get the facts straight before you petition. Congress does pay into the SS system A Senator MUST complete 6 years (one term) to get the retirement @100% Congressman must complete three terms (3 two year terms) gets the 100% retirement package. Spouse gets to continue pension a 100% at death WITHOUT HAVING TO PAY INTO THE ANNUITY like all other branches of government are required to do. Health care, although exempt from ACA, it is no better than the civil service health care and not even close to the fantastic retired military health care benefit. So, make sure ALL the facts are straight before you go through with the petition. (just thought you should know this)REPORT COMMENTS

This special treatment of our elected leaders must stop. First of all we are all Americans and should be treated as equals. The special treatment should be save for those who have worked there whole life's and have falling on hard times. The elderly should not be forced for they homes because local,state and federal government has a spending problem. It's great to pass this around, but it's been going around for many years. If you don't tell people how to effectively find and sign a petition, then nothing will ever come of this except more outrage. I'm no Einstein about the workings of the internet but they tell me you have to go to your own state and sign a petition. There have to be 3/4 of the states officially petitioning for this amendment to override Congress. There are 38 states already there. You need to contact your Congressman's office to be directed to where to go to sign the petition for your state. Don't just read about it---Make it happen!!!!!REPORT COMMENTS
