I’m not sure creating a 28th amendment is the best way to handle these problems. I think it would be easier to write laws to fix these problems as an amendment could take 100’s of years to be ratified. All of the things talked about needs addressed and fixed ASAP. Why do Children of Congress members not have to pay back their college student loans like all other students have to do? Members of Congress can retire at full pay after ONLY one term. When someone serving in the military for 20 years only gets 50% of their income upon retirement? and most American's have to skimp and save their ENTIRE LIVES to be able to retire at all. Why did Members of Congress exempt themselves from many of the laws they have passed, under which ordinary citizens must live. Why do members of congress not have to have the same medical insurance they want us citizens to have? Why do congress members get to have free medical for the rest of their lives but we have to put part of our income into medicare and social security for our entire working lives in order to get medical insurance when we retire, which doens't even cover all of our medical bills? this 28th amendment needs to be done so you understand what its like for us typical American citizens. Now we learn that congress has exempted themselves from Healthcare Reform, in all of its aspects. We will no longer tolerate people who were elected as public servants think they are elite and putting themselves above the law. We demand fairness.REPORT COMMENTS

I totally agree with the passage of this Amendment. Those bastards(any elected official who think that they are better than us(we elected them) should live by the same laws as all US citizens(For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they didn't pay into Social Security, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform that is being considered...in all of its forms. Please vote for the passage of this proposed 28th Amendment to the US Constitution.
