I have been paying, but I don't believe it is fair that we that took 7500 need to repair when the ones behind up got 8000 and do not need to repair

This angers me beyond words. I've been unhappily repaying on a debt since 2010, whilst those who were lucky enough to buy a home just a short time later than I, were simply given this award. Forgiveness should have been instantly retroactive upon the creation of the 2009 credit program.

We purchased our first home is June 2008 and we sold it in July 2016 and now are having to pay back $4500 because of the tax credit. How is it fair that those that purchased the following year (2009) got MORE money and don't have to pay a penny back?!?

We purchased our home on Dec, 17th, 2008. We have moved this past year and owe $5,500 back not to mention we have already paid $500 a year. This is ridiculous...

This only hurts those who chose home ownership a few months prior to those who didn't. It's kind of like hiring an employee in 2008 with no benefits and then in 2009 hiring another employee with full benefits. The employee in 2008 is NEVER eligible for the benefits because they were hired first.

Have unexpected hardship that started in 2011 due to daughters medical condition since birth, understood it was to be repaid but if I would have known this was going to happen to our family I would have either not taken the credit or would have waited 6 more months to purchase our first home, but it was not known then that if you purchased in 2009 you would not have to pay it back nor did we know my daughter would have her medical conditions we are still working with.

Please waive this remaining balance I am sure we all have. This takes away the idea that ownership of a home is better than renting. It's a hardship for most AMERICANS. We closed on DEC 18 2008, not knowing that JAN 1, 2009 we could have got the same thing for no repayment. We have been faithful in the payments and just like the school loans the government forgives, it's time for the homeowners who have faithfully paid this back and have done without that extra income, to be forgiven. Please listen and hear.
