PLEASE forgive this loan. It is not fair to the people that helped the economy by buying a home in 2008 to have to repay the tax credit but the people who took advantage of the tax credit the following years do not.

Let's help the people who were helping keep the economy going during a most difficult time in U.S. history. You bailed out many companies, gave more money to later home buyers without them having to pay it back. How unfair it is for us 2008 homebuyers.

Forgive this "loan" in full for all of the people who took advantage of this in 2008 when in 2009 the first time homebuyers received $500 more and don't have to pay it back. You used billions of taxpayer dollars to bail out the banks that caused the mess in the first place yet the hardworking taxpayer still has to repay a $7500 "loan" that should've been a credit like the 2009 first time homebuyers received.

I am currently paying this back every year and have always felt that it was not fair my neighbors did not have to pay his back and received $500 more than I did. Crazy political games cost us one way or another. Please help us write this off somehow because it is clearly a discriminative practice to make some repay and allow others to keep it.

This is totally unfair and we can't afford it! We aren't even there anymore and it's IMPOSSIBLE to NOT have a "gain" even when you foreclose and got 0000000!

This needs to be changed, it's unfair to everyone prior to the later change in the year where it was not required. it's preventing people from getting another house after Job losses, economic downturn along with the confusion surrounding payments and required forms not available when filing taxes forcing paper filing which is constantly getting lost or not applied.

Every year at tax time i feel like i'm getting smacked in the face! It really makes me frustrated that I have to repay this when someone who purchased a home just a few months later was handed a gift of $8000. Not only did they get more tax money, they don't even have to pay it back! Please change this law and pardon the remaining money owed by us unlucky 2008 home buyers.

Please Donald Trump fix this tax on middle class Americans. That is what this turned out to be. A $7500.00 loan that now seems like a tax burden every year. Please make this fair and undo it. It would be great (huge) if you would pay us little people back the money we paid in so far. After all, we bought homes when the country and the economy needed the stimulation the most. Just research it and anyone can see the injustice that is going on for the 2008 home buyers vs the 2009 ones. Had my family just bought our home 2 months later, we would have gotten $8000.00 and never had to pay it back. I mean come on man. Someone needs to tweet this out and see if we can get Trump to see it. He will do the right thing. We voted for some justice, so please let's make America great again. This $500 a year would make a difference in my life come tax time.

Why are we still required to pay this when they overturned that decision after December 2008, in 2009 they did NOT have to repay. So unfair. They should refund our money or at least wipe the rest of our years away so we don't have to pay it back.

This is not fair. I cannot believe they haven't changed this since then. Tell me how they can justify having the 2008 tax credit be paid back but not the latters? They should have changed the rules on the 2008 tax credit to match that of the 2009 tax credit.

Not fair when just a few months later, a larger loan was granted that doesn't have to be paid back.

This needs to be reversed, it makes absolutely no sense that people like us who bought homes in 2008 have to repay the credit while others do not!!

We should not be punished because we bought a home a year before. Not only do they not have to pay it back, they got $500 more. We have paid $3500 of this back already. The rest needs to be forgiven.

2008 penalties needs to be amended to eliminate the tax repayment plan from April 1st 2008 to December 31st 2008 for first-time home buyers to equalize the SAME as after January 1st 2009 repayment plan- which exempt homeowners from punitive 2008 fees.

I have an underwater home that I have to rent because I couldn't sell it. My family needed a larger home and needed to change school districts. I don't' think we should have to pay this back on a home I am going to lose money on. Completely, that people later got more money and don't have to pay back!

I am in total agreement with all others. I also bought my first home in 2008 and have been repaying back the $7500.00 since 2010. I don't mind repaying my part but I don't feel it is right that those buying in 2009 and 2010 are not. I feel this needs to be rescinded for those from 2008 and receive a credit for what has been paid back.
