I grew up on PBS. It is important for children to access this programming no matter what the economic status of this country is. I learned more from Big Bird, Grover, Luis and Maria than I did those underpaid, overworked teachers I was subjected to in preschool or kindergarten. The fact that this is an issue is ridiculous.Nov 6th, 2012Someone from Clarksville, IN signed.

My mother always said PBS was the one station I could always watch. It made culture and learning fun. Cutting funding for public broadcasting would be highly detrimental to childhood education.REPORT COMMENTS

I grew up with PBS and Sesame Street and now I'm growing with NPR. Cutting funding to these historically significant programs would be like cutting a piece of someone's life, starting from childhood. Public broadcasting is key to the nation's future generation.REPORT COMMENTS

PBS has been one of the most important and influential programs in American history. The fact I'm reading and composing this proves its worth; it taught me how to read and write. I cannot think of a program with a better return on investment.REPORT COMMENTS
