My urologist injects me monthly with this drug, I do have to sign to get the shot but the side effects have never been discussed, much less the hazardous nature. I am being treated for early stage, high risk prostate cancer. Treatment is daily radiation for 25 days, daily oral casodex, daily oral Flomax. I have changed the injection days to Fridays as I am unable to work the day after the dose. Do I even need it? -

I had no knowledge either this was a cancer chemotherapy drug. Like all antineoplastics, Lupron is harmful to both cancerous and non-cancerous cells. I have been on it since May 2016 going into my third shot. I will stop taking it asap, having all same side effects as state here by all other in this letter.REPORT COMMENTS

This drug is evil. It 'may' have played a role in minimizing breast cancer but wasn't worth it. People think I've become a nut job - they've NO IDEA what this drug has done to me. It's a very lonely spot to be in.REPORT COMMENTS

An HMO assigned urologist and oncologist influenced me to take BICALUTAMIDE and LUPRON DEPOT. I was left with the understanding the LUPRON DEPOT would be a one time injection to slow the spread of my prostate cancer while waiting to undergo surgery or radiation. I asked the infusion nurse, at the time I was to being injected, if LUPRON DEPOT was chemotherapy after seeing chemo.com on an authorization sheet and she did not acknowledge that it was but would only say that it was hormone therapy and injections would be needed every 4 months. I told her it was not my understanding that I would need to take the injections every 4 months. The oncologist could not be reached at the time. After having received the injection, the oncologist several days later contacted me and told me I would need to receive the injection every 16 weeks or until I decided to discontinue taking it. He never informed me prior that LUPRON DEPOT was chemotherapy. I did not understand LUPRON DEPOT to be chemotherapy until coming across an online site describing it as chemotherapy. All of this now after seeing the same HMO primary-care general doctor for over 10 years who in checking my prostate gland during routine physicals did not find any irregularity of my prostate and had discontinued doing PSA tests 9 years earlier unbeknown to me only to be discovered within 6 months of a physical rending me in good health 9 years later by a urologist to have aggressive, high risk cancer with a Gleason Score of 9. Having lost confidence in the health-care professionals at this particular HMO, who were being paid with monthly premiums, co-pays and deductibles to assist me with properly managing and maintaining my health to detect early stages of prostate cancer and other diseases, I now feel violated as a human being. Whatever happened to doctors upholding the ethical standards of their Hippocratic oaths? Corruption in the health-care industry is apparently running amuck at the expense of everyday people's lives while pharmaceutical companies and their lobbyists profit - not from curing patients but in many instances from neglect of care and nursing patient's symptoms without regard for cure with deceitful information. ###REPORT COMMENTS

I wish I would have researched more on this shot before I took it. I trusted my doctor and I read the pamphlet and it seemed ok it took me 2 years to take the shot because I was scared to take it I guess my six sense was telling me not to do it ,but two weeks ago I took the shot. Soon after the shot I started having gas gas everywhere all in my back, I'm sweating in the middle of the night, I can't sleep, I'm having panic attacks, and my body hurt especially at the joints this is driving me crazy I will not be taking the next two doses.REPORT COMMENTS
