As a VA Police certified Instructor I can attest that we as VA Police are required to accomplish more training to maintain our VA Police certification than most local Police Departments. We qualify with our duty weapon every three (3) months, we conduct Active Threat Response Training every three (3) months and we also accomplish Ground Defense Recovery/Defensive Tactics Training every three (3) months as well to maintain our certifications. Please pass this bill not only for the VA Police but for all aforementioned Federal Law Enforcement Agencies who have yet to be recognized officially as Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs). Thank you in advance for your time and consideration in this matter.May 18th, 2015Someone from Wilkes Barre, PA signed.

This Bill desperately needs the support of you and your partners in the Senate and Congress. VA Police Officers have constantly been deprived of the benefits, and pay, afforded to other uniformed Federal Law Enforcement Officers involved in similar or less responsibilities. There is no need to cast blame on past Agency decisions and/or their opinions. However, this is the chance to correct these past decisions and/or opinions and allow those who protect the men and women who fought for our country seeking medical care at a government facility, along with the protection of their visiting friends and family and the medical staff providing those needed services. The pay and benefits that these well trained professional men and women so deserve. I am therefore asking as a voter, and as a person that you do all you can do to make the particulars of this Bill a reality.REPORT COMMENTS

THIS should have been done a LONG time ago. We risk our lives too for way less money than our military counterparts. Yet, we do the same job and as you see in the news , there have been many situations that ended in murders of NSF. Not to mention as a GS5 for all they expect from us. Our pay and retirement is a pittance for the responsibly and liability we have on us everyday.REPORT COMMENTS
