It saves virtually no energy at all. Employees wanting "more daylight after i get off work" can negotiate with their employers to come in an hour earlier and leave an hour earlier. Schools are now, in March, sending their children to school in the DARK here in southeast Michigan. Plus it wreaks havoc with normal circadian rhythms.
