I consider this decision to be a slap in the face to military families who already sacrifice so much. My husband has been deployed away from home for the past two years, and now, as he faces another deployment to Afghanistan, his R&R has been taken away. I am a soldier on active duty who knows how difficult it is to be away from home for many month at a time. I've been home on R&R from 2 tours and can't imagine one of my brothers or sisters in arms having to go without it. Unbearable and inexcuseable to think that this would be taken away for budget concerns when there's so much fat that could be trimmed from other places in government.REPORT COMMENTS

Taking away R&R will increase the stress on the soldiers and their families, which is unkind at best and from a brutally practical standpoint is very costly in health care and justice in the future.
