We the undersigned,

Would like to bring into your attention the situation of the prisoners of faith in Eritrea, and Plead with you to consider launching thorough investigation and take all the necessary steps to pressure the Government of Eritrea to release the prisoners of faith in Eritrea. The prisoners of faith are all put into prison without any charge or trial for an indefinite period of time. They have been caged inside ship containers, underground prison cells under substandard conditions. Many are old and suffer from chronic illness. The daily suffering they are going through is unbearable. Moreover, as families and friends are not allowed to visit them; we are not in a position to tell whether they are still alive or not. This is a gross violation of basic human rights and we call on the international community to actively work to ensure the release of the prisoners of faith and bring into a halt the persistent violation of religious rights in Eritrea.

Hereunder is the names of some of the prominent religious leaders who currently imprisoned. However, there are several members of various religions who are languishing in prisons due to their faith.
