We Support Senator Sanders American Democracy Amendment

"If there's one thing that Americans from the left, right and center can all agree on, it's that they don't want more special interests in our politics,” says Senator Schumer. Agreeing with his colleague, Senator Sanders Amendment is drafted to counter a recent Supreme Court decision that gives corporations enormous power over our political process. In his address to Congress, Sanders sums up his opposition to the ruling. "In my view," he emphasized, “a Corporation is not a person....and it "does not have First Amendment rights to spend as much money as it wants…on a political campaign.” It does not have the right to buy a candidate. The Amendment states: Corporations are not persons with constitutional rights equal to real people. Corporations are subject to regulation by the people. Corporations may not make campaign contributions or any election expenditures. Congress and states have the power to regulate campaign finances. It is essential that Americans take back their government from special interests. We strongly support Sander's American Democracy Amendment.
