A bill to amend the Horse Protection Act to prohibit the shipping, transporting, moving, delivering, receiving, possessing, purchasing, selling, or donation of horses and other equines to be slaughtered for human consumption, and for other purposes.
Besides the fact that the FDA has said that horse meat is toxic and unfit for human consumption the slaughter process is inhuman.

Phenylbutazone, which is one of the most widely prescribed medications for horses, is banned in any concentration in all food producing animals due to the hazards it presents to humans.
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs - prohibited as well Phenylbutazone, known as "bute," is a veterinary drug only label-approved by the Food & Drug Administration for use by veterinarians in dogs and horses. It has been associated with debilitating conditions in humans and it is absolutely not permitted for use in food-producing animals.
99 percent of horses that started in California last year raced on bute, according to Daily Racing Form. Bute is banned in the United States and Canada for horses intended for the food chain. That’s a permanent ban.The new FDA regulations approved on Feb 13, 2003 include as well phenylbutazone, aka bute, deemed this drug toxic and cancer causing for human consumption.
The worse part of these horse's suffering is the trips to and from the "so called feedlots".....and the mexican slaughter houses are beyond cruel...please stop this.

Stop the brutal killing of horses in the u.s. especially Nevada, where Harry Reid rules and neglects the people and allows the slaughter of animals.
