Please provide funding and mandate it be tested for HSV. I was recently diagnosed. Just had my follow-up appointment, and I was told to be thankful it was not HIV or something more serious. The issue is now that I have this diesease, I AM more susceptible to HIV. Not because I'm careless (only ever had 2 sex partners), but because people simply are unaware or do not care about their status. It puts other innocent victims, such myself, at risk. The person I contracted this from knew he had herpes, but did not bother to tell me. Please push to further test this as a treatment/cure for herpes. We need it sooner than later.

This virus is seemingly not taken very seriously by most doctors - I have been told by some to just not worry about it - that it'll eventually resolve itself and I won't have the symptoms anymore.
