WE WANT THE VA HOSPITAL RETROFITTED TO A FULL SERVICE VETERANS AFFAIRS MEDICAL CENTER(VAMC)WITH EMERGENCY SERVICE FOR OUR
QUEENS AND NASSAU COUNTY VETERANS. WE WANT PRIMARY & EXTENDED
CARE FOR FEMALE VETERANS. (THESE TWO COUNTIES ARE OF THE
HIGHEST POPULATIONS OF VETERANS IN N.Y.S. AND THE USA. THEY
HAVE THE NUMBERS, AND THEY NEED AND DESERVE A LOCAL HOSPITAL)

WE WANT THE ST ALBANS NAVAL BUILDINGS PRESERVED AS A LANDMARK
AND INCLUDED IN THE STATE AND NATIONAL HISTORIC REGISTER.
(IT IS ALREADY ELIGIBLE.)

We do not need the VA EUL process at this site. Developer stated he
only has to "contribute" to building the VA facility. Therefore
he must be using VA funds which discredits the reason for the EUL. This is JUST a land grab and the proposed over development and environmental injustice it would present does not benefit the
veterans or the community.

When my father a WWII vet lived with me he could not use these facilities, he had to go to Manhattan or Staten Island to be hospitalized. What a same and a waste to have our current Vets go to Brooklyn or further on Long Island to have their medical needs met.
