The hope of our nation is to rebuild and revitalize our communities. The services which were begun and supported with SSBG funding is critical to the lives of displaced men, women and children. Please allow us to continue by extending the legislation.
This grant has been very beneficial to a large number of families. Pleas extend this grant.
Please extend this Grant - these folks working in this program have been and will continue to do a great job. This is a monumental task and they are doing a great job!
A good program and needs to be extended!!
Waht is more important than empowering peolple in their own recovery. If we can give a hand up lets do all we can to make it happen.
We need an extention on this grant to be able to help more people in need in our county.
As a spec writer and estimator, I see the need for assistance. People have exhausted all they have in savings and insurance and still have problems.
As a Case Manager serving Reynolds County, I know first-hand the needs that still exist!
It seems that the Only parts of Mo. that get any recognition are St. Louis and Kansas City. I am here to tell you that there is much more and many of us who live in the rest of the state are hurting too. My home was damaged in the 2008 storms as were many others who have not yet been helped. Between the lack of jobs and the lack or resources available to us we are at your mercy. Please show some. We are not a lazy people. We want to work and we want to provide for ourselves but it is very hard to do without work or resources. Our home was damaged by the severe rains, high winds, hail. Because we were out of work we were not able to continue to carry insurance on our home and we are desperately hoping for help. Now I don't know what we will do without that help.
Work with WCLTRC. We need this grant to be extended to continue to help the many families waiting
There are still many people needing assistance. I am on a team of three people covering 16 counties. We have over 100 cases still needing assistance and more people contacting us every week. If the grant expires in September a significant number of them will still be living in flood damaged homes. Some will be living in substandard conditions possibly dealing with things like black mold which is next to impossible to get rid of and causes respiratory problems. Many of these people are elderly or disabled.
I will sign any petition to help the U.S. people in need...
My home was flooded in March of 2008 and my son who was 8 months old at the time and me were displaced. My home was rebuilt and I have applied for these funds. THe process is very slow due to all the people that need help. Please grant this extension so I can get my house raised so me and my now 3 year old do not have to go through that again.
The extention will positively inpact many of our Families in St. Charles and Lincoln county Misouri...You hold in your hands the future of our at risk Families.
Families
We need this legislation to assist the needy and reduce the suffering from natural disasters!
I work with several unmet needs committees in Missouri. many of the people who are impacted in these areas are poor and/or have limited options due to the income level or life stage. Resolving these last and most difficult cases by extending the dealine on these funds is critical.
I'm here, I can't leave, this area will be flooded again, the grant is here to elevate my home, so please let the grant protect us.
I have seen first hand the conditions that many Missourians are currently living in - conditions created by the 2008 flooding in southwest Missouri. I hope this grant will be extended so that these families will be able to once again be able to live in safe enviornments.
This grant money is very much needed throughout the state of MO to help people still suffering from 2008 disasters. It is unfortunate that it took so long for the those impacted to receive funds and it would be a bigger travesty to remove the funds just as services are beginning to have an impact on individual households.
This grant is very important to alot of people
The White House and Congress need to act immediately upon returning from their recess to extend this Social Services funding. Please make it happen!
