let's be fair and allow all who are able to benefit from the retroactivity to be release or sentences shortened from the unjustness.
please make this law retroactive!!! It`s the just thing to do! The new law shouldn`t just affect th people who commit crimes as of November 2011 it should also affect the ones who are doing harsh sentences undr the old law!!
I totally support retroactivity of bill S. 1789. My husband was sentenced under the current unjust law almost 12 years ago. There was no physical evidence; only hear say. Therefore he was charged with conspiracy and given a sentence that carries more time than a MURDERER! It's time fairness be displayed in the Federal Court system as well as all other judicial court systems in the U.S. Most federal court officials have been misusing their positions for far too long because they have been given the authority to do so by a judicial system which has been proven to be unfair particularly to black men!
I am signing this because I do believe that it was designed to target Black men in particular. I am not signing because I condone the selling of drugs. Too many brilliant minds are lost to this game. Parents, STEP UP!!!
Help these families get fair sentencing. Right is right and make this right for all of the children who need their dads.
Making this retroactive is the only way to make it fair!! Thousands were sentenced unjustly!!
My friend, Greg, was a chauffeur, driving a fare through Ohio to West Virginia. A routine traffic stop revealed crack cocaine in the passenger's bag. Although the passener claimed the drug AFTER Greg was sentenced, Greg is now incarcerated in a federal institution. This is not only unjust, it is just plain wrong. Let's pass H.R. 6548 so I, and millions more, can see their friends and family free again.
i was convicted of one gram of crack and did 17years if i was white i would'nt did a day.

Lets get this done and passed !
It's just not right!
say yes to this bill this year so that i love one can come home some was miss sentence to high for the crime wish was unjustifed
we have way to many other things to wrry abot besides this.
The feeling is mutual, Some people don't have the right to all the time given to them. Especially when You have Murderers and Rapist free after doing little to no time, And a Drug Dealer Dam near gets life as if Their forcing Drug Addicts to take Drugs , When at the same time Muderers Kill At Will, And Rapist Rape at will too.
its THE ONLY FAIR THING TO DO EQUAL JUSTICE TO ALL THE PEOPLE
I am elated that this bill is grasping the attention that it so deserves. We often lay to certain situations thinking that our voice wouldnt make a difference... but just seeing that we currently have a Afro American President leading our country speaks volumes of how loud our voices can be when we JOIN THEM TOGETHER! I am praying that everyone do their part to see that this bill is NOTICED... ACCEPTED and PASSED!
