It is unfair that the spouses can not spend time with their loved ones and.children do not know their parents that have been imprisoned. this is a result of relationships failing due to our lack of proper visitation rights!
Please approve conjugal visits.. this special bonding between a man and his wife is not only PROVEN to strengthen the relationship but it is PROVEN to benefit ones health..it is a sin to commit adultry yet THOUSANDS of women and men are not able to have have that bond with husband/wife because our state will not add that option...i strongly believe there will be less behavioural issues in the prisons if the inmates were given the opportunity to earn this privilage..
I think this would be benifical to all family members. How do u expect an inmate to care about changing their life if they feel like nobody loves or cares about them. They get into an I don't care about anything state of mind because everything they had was lost in one bad decision. They need support systems to grow to able them to change bad behaviors or they will go back to their same old ways. And also for them family it is a healing mechinisum to get over their anger and grief cycle about losing their loved one and will perhaps keep children from feeling so abandoned and make others realize that person may not in fact be a complete lost cause. Prison is a punishment, why not instead of making them hate law enforcement give them a chance to appreciate what they had when they were out such as their family. It will give them more chances of success when they leave those foreclosed walls.
The Visits would be awesome, it would not only benefit and keep the inmate saine but it also give these children whs parent(s) who is in jail a chance to know them instead of the reatonship being thrown out the window. If my parent or spouse was in jail for an extended amount of time i would want my children and I to see them, we shouldn't take this privalige away from the family because of what the inmate did outside thoes walls.
The meaning of CORRECTION = The act or process of correcting.Something offered or substituted for a mistake or fault. Many inmates have reformed & known corrected behavior & actions that are incarcerated serving life sentences without the possibility of parole. As canteen, phone & visiting are privileges, so should the conjugal visit be. Lawful Man/Woman marriages should be considered for this privilege. It not only strengthens the bond of family, it also renews a sense of purpose. It will eliminate crime inside the institutions etc. Many inmates who are honored inmates with no write ups in one year should be given a privilege of a family bonding conjugal visit. Families would be willing to push funds into the state account in support of this request by allowing approved visits with married couples for 48 hours for an amount of $20.00 to help with toiletries, cleaning supplies, bedding etc for the visit sites. This approval will be more good than harm as inmates will have a sense of humanism & that will reduce stress & anger issues dramastically. Conjugal visits would strengthen the bonds of married men and help families develop the real skills needed to survive the struggles we will face on the outside, and strengthen communication between couples. We need this time with our mates, and they need it with us. It is vital time together not just for the man and woman but also for the children involved.
