Manage the Gulf oil spill NOW!!

Dear Mr. President and Honorable members of the United States Congress:

We urge you to take immediate action to effectively Manage the Deepwater Horizon Gulf oil spill NOW!

Polls consistently show that the majority of Americans disagree with the Administrations current actions in handling this event to date.

The following actions will make significant and immediate improvements;
Establish a unifed, cross agency, central authority for command and control structure embracing a large scale military logisitcs organization.The current multi-agency approach results in a management structure that permits any one agency to veto coordinated plans and cause extensive delays in approving needed action.

Suspend the Jones Act for this event.

Accept the international assistance that has been offered.

Organize a cross industry response, this problem is not just a BP problem, but an industry problem, engage and permit the other companies to dedicate resources.

End the debate about whether the states or the federal government will pay for the National Guard troops and deploy the troops and require BP to make appropriate compensation for their use.

Suspend foreclosures, collection actions and injurious credit reporting for 90 days in the affected areas.
