Many have medical problems for the rest of their lifes and how do we treat them - they have to fight every step of the way to get these programs and benefits to work for them.
And many do not have secure jobs to come home to.
I think it's time our elected officials deal with real world situations - finance their own retirement, serve only 2 terms then go back to job which I'm sure is waiting for them.
It's unbelievable that this condition exists and has existed for such a long period of time. The American people are finally getting motivated, mainly because of the internet and it's available information.
The fact is we DO have an elite that is above the law. That's what this proposed amendment is attempting to point out. While I'm doubtful our "leaders," who are comfortable with their positions above the law, will be in any way motivated to change that in consideration of their plebian constituencies, it doesn't hurt, I guess, to put it out there....

Congress should have a fiduciary responsiblity to protect it citizens.Our respresentive should be run goverment as a responsible business. keeping wages and benefits in line with general business.
Seems to me as though Congress is no different than the very privileged private citizens they so eagerly go after with one crucial exception, they write the laws so therefore can take the attitude, "Do as I say not as I do" to a much higher level. I believe history has proven that government is much like money and corrupts absolutely for those without the highest of moral standards. I do not believe legislators of the past were all morally crippled but only a few and because the opportunity was there greed, power, privilege and many other dangerous abuses took hold, infested and spread much like a disease. The American people didn't even realize how sick the country was becoming until it was a full blown cancer. History is full of symptoms indicating the spread of our new political cancer and unless "We The People" do not work to hold elected officials responsible and work ourselves to educate the dumbed down populace the cancerous Congresses of past and present have created with their tainted policies the America our creators intended will die.

How dispicable of you to make laws against we the people ,while you remain exempt. This must end. In the end you will continue to draw your fat checks while we the people suffer and go without> How do you sleep at night ? Have you ever really had our interests at heart ? The more I learn about Government ,the more disgusted I become.
