wow only 250 to help out millions of poor seniors and disabled but they have to block it out. I think god need to clean this earth don't y'all think? because this world is way to dirty.
I have worked all my life since the age of 12. I have paid into the system since the age of 15. It is my sol means of support. Many of us did not understand that we would no tbe able to live on what SS provides and did not go the 401k route or invest in stocks or and IRA. Please dont cut us short. I have already decided to become homelss in the summer of 2012 as I can no longer pay simple costs of living with even basic amenities. My dog and I will be fine as longh as we head south or camp under the bridge along w/ afew other seniors I know already in this position. Going back to even simpler basics and a colman stove. Thank god for my service dog and good rain gear.I will then be able to afford a good pair of shoes so i can walk south. ~64 and still thinking of the future
I need that check. I am Disabled with Scoliosis and other. I still dont have an Iron, Microwave and decent shoes the Doctor keeps telling me to get. If I could work on wouldn't be on disability!! I started working at age 15 and worked as long as I could with my conditions until age 35. I now have low self esteem too, and am barely making it while there are so many rich people in this country that used to be AMERICA.
Please hurry. I want to send a lump of coal to everyone in the House and Senate. I live in coal country and I believe the $250 will just about cover it.
shame on this government two years in a row no cost of living increase. Has anyone seen the cost of food, medicine and energy cost..how exactly do they calculate this????
Our elderly need our help. COLA are what keep them going...have you seen the cost of prescription drugs? and have you seen the pathetic amount that medicare contributes? approve this stimulus payment. there are stimulus' in effect for the working and even the unemployed but not for those who are no longer able to work? something's gotta change!
First of I want to say that I think President Obama is doing a great job with our country.I'm disabled and have one child who is disabled himself and the $250.00 stimulus check would help out a lot for his Christmas and grocery's. I'm not eligible for food stamps and it's hard to live off of $694.00 a month. To me everything is high these days. After you pay bills and get things you need for the house,your check is already gone. I'm very thankful for what get a month but the stimulus check would help out all the disabled people. So congress and the senate need to sit and reflect on how would they feel if they were in our shoes,disabled and trying to make ends meet. They would want all the help they can get and need. I know and believe that President Obama has what it take to get our country out of this mess and turn it around. My God bless you all and have a bless Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Come on! Now I have to pay with my last $2 from checking in January, my rent went up, I am permanently disabled Physically as mentally. I still don't have a microwave, Clothes Iron or ANY winter clothes! I need the check YOU PROMISED!!!!
The $250.00 would help a lot as there is no cost of living raise and the state of California has cut $62.00 a month from my ssi part of my income. I am a senior and am disabled. Why is it always the poor, disabled and seniors that always take the hit first when the polititions get the country in trouble. Its because they dont want to give up their huge salerys and benifits from their taxpayer paid jobs!
I think that the government is helping everyone this year but those of us that is disable. I can't work because one bottle of my medicine costs $2800.00 a month. I have been disable for nearly ten years now. I plan to go back to school in Jan. but I'm almost scared that my medicaid and medicare will be cut off and I will never be able to afford my medicine.
I am a single mom of 2. The list this year are twice as long as last year. Why haven't we gotten help from the government to buy school supplies. Things are worse this year and it seems the government just forgot about us.
i am a disabled grandmother caring for a disabled 6 year old with special medical needs. we travel several times a weeks for medical care and really need this money ..
