we must all fight hard to pass the senate health care bill---do it now and stop waisting time !!!!! Songresswomen Suzan Kosmos of Florida --((a democrat)))--or so we thought----we hope that she will remember she is a democrat and vote for the health care bill---she did not the first time around and all us strong democrats who worked for her campaign were outraged !!! She needs to get with the program !!!! She needs to vote with the party and people who worked to get her in office !! Otherwise-she is OUT !!! Suzane Kosmos-Congreswoman from Florida-votes YES for the Health Care Bill this time !!! Otherwise we will vote NO on her !! These democratic wimpy representatives are really spineless !!!
Dr Donna ,MD-Children' Medical H. from Titusville, FL writes:
PASSSSSSS This health care bill now! Enough is enough !! Our doctors and nurses have been signing petitions-marching-faxing-writing-etc etc etc---do these men and women ever listen ???? Regardless of what some republicans have tried to destroy ACORN organizers with ( you know they same guy that was arrested two weeks ago when he and his fellow tea people broke into a federal building to plant bugs and video equipment - hey isn't that a violation of the anti terrorism act ? ) anyway-we have worked with Acorn here and they do such wonderful work with the poor. The problem is people get nervous when everyone actually has a voice in government including the poor ! They become a target to the republicans. A local republican senator made a speech recently where he actually stated that we should bring back jim crow laws ! He said if you are not able to speak "English correctly " you should not vote ! be afraid-be very afraid ! The next step will be to take the vote from 18 year olds, then African Americans, then women! Pass health care for ALL citizens-we are all equal -well at least for now !
We had a meeting at our local Florida Obama group-and we were able to obtain 2,367 signatures in just 2 days of medical professionals supporting passing the health car bill NOW---!!! 81 % of Americans want this bill to pass !!! pass the health care bill now !!!!! NOW !!!!
Florida Representative Suzan Kosmas-needs to VOTES YES for the Health Care Bill this time !!! She is not a loyal democrat if she does not vote YES for the Health Care Bill !!! We must all fight for health reform and not allow these health insurance corporations-which recently reported a 200% increase in record profits-BCBS made over 143 billion dollars ! -They must not be allowed to make ethical-financial health care decisions concerning America's health care future !!
Many of the democratic representatives seem to be cowards when we are still in the vast majority! Who cares about what happens in Mass. That has more to do with democrats needing to run better and much more aggressive campaigns!! We need this health care bill NOW !!!! Have some guts congress - passss it NOW !!!!!
I am going to call every democratic House member and every democratic Senator to demand that they PASS the Senate bill with changes later. Why was George W. bush allowed to utilize the reconciliation process in the US Senate continually to pass his billion dollar budgets and military spending bills and why now do republicans utilize the notorious filibuster process on the average of 2,345 % more under President Obama to stop all his appointments and bills ? For over 150 years it took only 51 votes to pass a bill so why does it now take 61 ? As our federal government grinds to a stop I hope people understand that the republicans have basically "made-up" their own constitutional process that "is not" in the constitution. This is outrageous! It is a mockery of the US Constitution which all these Tea Party people are supposed to be fighting for!
Do SOMETHING...I pay my own health insurance and never use it and I am willing...they would probably find some loop hole not to pay if I did need it.. BCBS or none of them can be trusted anyway.
While I would prefer the U.S. House of Representatives & Senate to be able to reconcile their two healthcare reform bills, fix problems in the Senate bill -- remove the taxes in the Senate bill for workers who get employer based health insurance (the House bill would provide affordable, quality coverage after all without taxing our health benefit which is what we need) having the flexibility to produce final bill the recent election of Republican Scott Brown to the U.S. Senate complicates matters. Best case scenario is for the House to now just pass the Senate healthcare reform bill -- send the Senate bill to President Obama's desk and then use reconciliation to provide additional fixes later.
Healthcare is too costly -- medical premiums have been rising faster than wages for years and will only continue to do so unless reform is finished. We need to make healthcare affordable to the uninsured and better for the under-insured, end insurance company discriminatory practices -- end their abuses and price gouging -- so they can't discriminate against anyone for having a pre-existing condition.
When you have employer provided health insurance -- whatever you owe for insurance is deducted in advance from our paychecks before we receive them -- depending on how much insurance and how many benefits you receive the amount deducted can really add up -- these days also it's worth noting employees are working more hours for less pay and less benefits. Considering many Americans each year file for personal bankruptcy because of high medical bills they cannot afford to pay passing healthcare reform is no longer just a moral imperative but an economic one. Passing healthcare reform as such should remain part of the agenda for economic recovery.
House members: This is your opportunity to make history, take a stand, and be brave. Your children and grandchildren will be proud of you and will thank you when they have better health care than we do now.
I know it is a bad bill. But you can fix a bad bill. And you can't fix something you don't have. You won't have anything if you don't get something now.
It seems the only way to move forward on health care reform, without subjecting the country to the tyranny of a filibuster, is to have the House pass the Senate bill, and have both houses of Congress simultaneously vote on changes through reconciliation.
While I would have liked to see a bill with less generosity to the health insurance and drug corporations, the senate bill does get us down the road a bit. Pass it now, fix it later. And in the future, when attempting to negotiate with the party of "no", don't throw the baby out before the bathwater!
Please! This is better than nothing, and also better than incremental changes that some are now discussing. These are unlikely to succeed anyway, but could take the rest of the year debating. As Rachel Maddow said, "If Democrats don't do health care this year, they are done!
As awful as parts of it are, the Senate bill is better than no bill. Millions more will receive health insurance coverage. Do what you can to fix it later. Far too many Americans are holding on by threads, waiting and hoping for change.
If the House does not pass the Senate bill, history will not be kind to these members. History will regard them as missing the opportunity to save hundreds of thousands of lives in the face of the slightest adversity.
No is not the answer to passing the Senate Bill. Americans are depending on you to provide them with affordable health insurance so please pass the Senate HC Bill and work to pass the fixes via reconciliation soon after.
This is your chance. Don't let the "process" spoil the chance to literally save lives. What happens inside Washington between houses of Congress doesn't matter - but covering millions of people with health insurance DOES!
Not every great achievement is achieved in one battle, the passage of one law, or the course of one election. Sometimes we must win the first battle for a less than ideal victory, in order to win greater goals further down the line.
