instead of killing and abandoning in the wild why cant they donate the horses to third world countries that need them for transportation? they can use the usefully and it would cost less to do that rather to kill them.
Speaking as a horse lover and owner, these animals should have a better alternative than being abused, abounded, and neglected. It’s not acceptable to leave these animals in feedlots or expect them to make it on their own.
Anyone who truely loves animals, would sign this. I am a horse LOVER, and horse owner! Overpopulation is bad! It is a CRYING SHAME to let good meat go to WASTE. It is a waste of life altogether!
The photos are not common place on our desert reservation. The wild ones live free and i am a very proud owner of 2 national treasures whos parents ran free on the Native lands.. It would be better if those who are non-native would stop rounding them up and selling them for meat ... These animals are loving and gentle. My horses still pay a lot of attention to me even in my wheel chair.. My stud always hugs me and greets me with a conversation and a smile.
A no-kill dog shelter containing reproductively active animals running together is obviously a ludicrous idea. We must manage feral horse populations to preserve the horses as well as the federal lands where they live.
I am a livestock producer,my horses are part of that production. It is insane to try to make a 1200lb animal a pet.You might do it for one but not the hundreds of thousands that are scattered over this country....Congress--GROW SOME STONES
I have had horses for the past 20 years and, yes, they are my pets. However, they are still livestock and should come under the same laws for slaughter as other livestock. Individual horse owners should have the final say in how to handle their liverstock, not Congress.
I am a horse owner and I love horses. They are livestock - NOT pets. I do not want my tax dollars supporting "wild" horses. We have many more important things to spend money on and many more important issues to deal with.
