Everyone has the right to freedom! from continued persecution" of judgemental people, corporations" and anyone who thinks they are above the law! because of the blood spill of the men and women who give there life for our country and continued freedom of oppression!
They have served their time and now trying hard for job. They can't get a job because they did wrong. They have a family ,what are they to do,how can they support their family.None of us are perfect.
This is not fair.Give them a chance.
I'm currently in Afghanistan straight from Iraq. No one ever complains about any body that carrys a M16, a american worker escorting convoys, or a american mechanic sleeping in harms way to keep the wheels of democracy turning. Lawyers, politicians, and many americans wearing name brand suits enjoying freedom thats being hard earned by the very people that will be denied the basic freedom to defend themselves in their own home, once they return to the UNITED STATES... no reason a non-voilent person shouldn't have all rights restored after 10 years have past..
I do agree that convicted Felonies should have their rights reinstated. However if Harmful crime has been commited, then their rights should not be reinstated. There are so many people who are convicted as Felonies that come out and change for the better, and want better for themselves but they are turned down by society. Also, if they are ordered by the courts to go out and get a job then Why is it so hard for them to obtain employment?
The 14th amendment states that all citizens are entitled to equal protection under the law regardless of status legal or otherwise. This includes the 2nd ammedment which precludes the right to bear arms and 6th ammendment which states that rights can only be taken away by due process under the law, but once that due process is complete(eg. Completion of a sentence handed down by a recognized court of law) the rights of the citizen must be returned to them regardless of post legal process status. This includes but is not limited to the Constitution and all it's amendments and all federal and state laws that don't clash with the constitution. Current state and federal laws making it illegal for felons to bear arms are unconstitutional and must be brought before the supreme court and repealed. The contiued discrimination of felons permitted by law in job searches is also unconstitutional in that they continue to punish felons even after they have served their time and are trying their best to reform themselves. THIS LEGALIZED DISCRIMINATION IS THE NUMBER ONE CAUSE OF CRIMINAL RECIDIVISM AND MUST BE STOPPED NOW! I am a felon myself and it is nearly impossible for me to find a decent job and earn a living so I can reform myself. I feel that I am continually being punished for my crimes and I have served my time and been released from my punishment. Change these laws and protect the MAJORITY of felons that are trying to help themselves out of their criminal behavior.
