What a racket. This whole idea of preventing satellite customers form accessing other local markets in spirit to evenly distribute viewership is a sham. Cable companies get away with it, why not satellite. Special lobbying interest have got to be attached tho this one. I live on the WI/IL border and can't get Chicago local, what do I care about Milwaukee, nice town, but really not anything interesting to me. Meanwhile my faithful overpaying Time Warner customer friends get parallel networks, WTF is wrong with this picture, literally?
get rid of this stupid law we deserve the right to the distant network feeds
The government needs to keep their nose out of everyone's business.
I think it is wrong what this does. I am getting more tired of the gov. sticking there nose into every little thing we do. If I want my local channels (which I will have to pay for) and spend my own hard earned money on other distant channels I should be able to. This is not about giving the people what we want, this is about making more money for big business, thats who wins, oh and by the way, thanks to my LOCAL Senators and Reps for taking money from them to make sure that I, an unintelligent, not sure what I want or need person is well taken care of! (RANT OVER)
I agree with this and I am also hearing that they are trying to abolish free local broadcasting - that would be a terrible thing to let happen in our country. There are many people that do not have cable television and I do not want to be FORCED to have to pay for cable.
I can get a newspaper sent to my current home from my home town 2300 miles away, Why shouldn't I be able to see a local channel from another area if I choose?
I'm in the military and currently live in an area that doesn't get local channels on satellite. I'll gladly pay to have the locals for whatever region I choose.
I'm in the military and live in a distant state. I get my local sports teams.
I live in extreme western Wisconsin, near the Twin Cities, and are in its TV market. This silly law prevents us from getting news from our own state unless we get cable, or try extreme measures to pull in stations from Eau Claire over the air. What a joke.
I had Portland local stations in HD, Now I get Eugene Stations in Crummy SD.
Thanks For Nothing.
My aunt is a satellite subscriber and I wished that the SHVERA law would changed so I could see distant network signals of the four networks besides local-into-local stations.
the satellite home should be done away with i should pick what city i what to see feel like iam being bullyed what i get to watch
I used to be a satellite subscriber, I support this petition.
We think that every single American deserved to watch distant network feeds, and make it fair for every single American.
