This is a wonderful idea...now I wish they would include term limits. In fact, I hope the government does shut down, so the amount of stealing from the American people, will be reduced, at least for a short period of time. What I would like to know...if the country shuts down, won't the Queen of England and the Vatican be upset? You know, losing all that revenue to a bunch of wankers, who can't figure out how to pass a budget? I think another ammendment should be that politicians can't be lawyers, or of royalty...wait, didn't we have an ammendment like that, but was mysteriously vanquished by the people who really run Washington? Here's another good idea...you can't be president if your're related to another president. Just think how many lives would have been saved if this ammendment was in place. But alas, as with everything the government does, they control the opposition, they have rigged the electoral system and have convinced the American people we have a dream....an American Dream and that's exactly what it is...a dream. Laws apply to all citizens and last time I looked Senators and Representatives had to be citizens in order to hold that position. No one should be exempt especially those that make the laws!
It is now time for our Senators or Representatives, and Congress to go by the laws that apply to ALL citizens of the United States. They should not be able to vote themselves a raise or get lifetime benefits unless they serve at least the equivalent as any other government employee who has to work at least 30 years and have attained the age of 55 for full retirement. I feel the people who serve on Capitol Hill do not deserve all these added benefits when not serving at least a minimum of 20 years.
