We requested a Loan Modification back in November 2011. After several requests for more documentation, we received a letter today, 5/10/2012 denying our request. The reason stated "The workout assistance you have requested is not an option." What took so long and what is the actual reason we were turned down?

after the bank taking these funds from my account on auto payments for 7 months they have now produced a document that say 1394
and they say I had that signed and notorized, I said I did no such thing
just like in insurance law they made an offer, I accepted it, they took the payments from my account and then call me 7 months later and say they said they made a mistake and my payments were 1394 and change ......how can they change a legally binding contract?
My husband and I have been trying to work with Wells Fargo, since 2009, we now found out that Wells Fargo does not own our loan any longer, and B of A is the Investor and Wells Fargo is the servicer. Same Game lost paper work, changing people that are in charge. No answers, or we do not meet the 31%. What is that? I have lost my job and my husbands business is down by 55%. We need help along with all the Home Owners that have been scammed. The banks do have bailout money, just think about it, all the interest alonethey are collecting on the money that is sitting there not helping the homeowners. We have been ontime for 5 1/2 yrs and thanks to Wells Fargo for telling us we can not afford our home. Thanks!
Lenders and Mtg Servicing Companies are out of control as a taxpayer I am requesting that US law makers pass new regulation which will ensure the rights of the US consumers. I would also like to request that the DOJ investigate and prosecute every Notary Public in the country which has committed Notary Fraud while aiding and abetting the "Robo-Signers" This is very simple Robo-signing an "Assignment of Mortgage" is nearly impossible without the help of a "Notary Public" Remember the Notaries might be at the bottom the the scandel but if prosecuted they will always turn over the "robosigners" at the top of the foreclosure mills and attny firms. Last but not least close down MERS!!!! this will return clarity to the courts and deserving revenue to each individual county nationwide.
BofA offered me a bogus modification and reneged on the terms; falsely reporting me late. CEO Brian Moynihan refuses to make it right. I lost my home. The Bank has reported me falsely to the bureaus preventing me from buying another home. To save face, the Bank DENIES what it has done. Also it apologized previously and assigned Mina Lauv in the president's office for an "in house" resolution. She abruptly left mid-stream in negotiations with no explanation; the Bank coldly refused to explain why. Almost daily I ask Moynihan to remove the late reporting codes on my credit bureaus; although I received an email from the Bank it was doing so, it now again refuses. The Bank sends letters from "advocates" who "double talk" their way around it. They are NOT advocates for the homeowners. They bend the facts ruthlessly.
I am losing my home because Wells Fargo has kept me in a paper trail for 1 1/2 years trying to pretend to give us assistance for mortgage modification but they said we did not qualify, lost documents, never received, so on. They should be closed down.
GMAC received $17.3 billion in bailout money. The Treasury Dept. has a 56% stake in the company, so why is it impossible for people in trouble with their mortgages to get a loan modification from GMAC unless their mortgage is at 31% of their income? How have they been allowed to interpret the HAMP guidelines in this clearly discriminatory manner? If a mortgage is at 31% of income, they are not the ones who need an adjustment. Why is this discrimination against the needy being allowed to continue?
We pay our mortgage on time every month, however we purchased our home when the prices were higher than they should have been and right after we purchased, the market crashed! We are now stuck with a home we cannot sell and we stand to lose my husband's VA benefits and our outstanding credit rating due to the "economy and housing crisis". It is not fair to those of us who work hard to pay our bills on time and had to pay too much for our home, not knowing that the market would crash the way that it did. We deserve assistance with this. We should not have to suffer such a great loss because the military is moving us once again. Where is the justice in this? How were we supposed to know that the market would crash right after we purchased our home? I've contacted everyone that I know to contact including our Mortgage Company and they advised that we would just have to do a short sale, but we may have to pay the remaining balance. There is no justice in that.
I live in Arizona one of the hardiest hit for foreclosures and know of a lot of home owners including myself that was told we qualify for the HAMP program back after eights months of back and forth paper work that they seem to just lose, I was turned down like everyone else I know. The bank is BOA. I don't know of anyone that has had a loan mod approval
boa , will not do a loan mod that i totally qualify for , they have been sent same docs with all required 6 times , the holder of loan says they will aloow mod
We have a mortgage with BOA. We are trying to do a modification. They have sent us the paperwork 3 times-but never gave us the name or extentsion of the indivual that is to "help" us. Turns out he is also the only one that can accpet out payments. I was never informed of this. Tried calling him 7 times in 3 days to no avail. Now we can't make our current payment until he returns. This is not fair to us or to other consumers that are in thye same boat. Nor is the rest of the stuff the banks are doing.
Please help hardworking, disappearing middle-class keep their homes until the recession ends!

Too much conflicting information about modification. I need one but have no idea which way to turn with Indy Mac/One West/ Deutsche Bank. This system is criminal and if I can ever get out from under this mess, I will need to move to a third world country to live decently.
Wells Fargo and all the other banks took government money in the form of a bailout with one of the major conditions of the deal being that they help homeowners to stay in their homes. Well, they have reneged on their part of the deal endlessly since receiving the money. Their CEO's and other top level managers have continued to rake in obscenely high (and much undeserved) salaries and bonuses. My friend Gina is in the unfortunate position of being unemployed and of NOT being upside down on her house. Wells Fargo has done everything in it's power not to deal with her on the issue. They have lost paperwork umpteen times, tried various other stonewalling tactics and now, finally are going to foreclose on her anyway. She has spent countless hours and what little money she's had left trying to work with these criminals but to no avail. We need to go after these fiends and take away their financial goody basket!

I have done loan modifications with small banks, but yet with Bank of America, I can't get done my primary loan modification done. Please, please help us.
Try selling a condo...mine has been on the market for months, but with Fannie Mae's rules no one can get a mortgage to buy it. Of course my mortgage is under water as well! FM which owns a quarter of U.S. mortgages, announced that for a condo mortgage to qualify, its building must be at least 70 percent sold (up from 51 percent previously) and no more than half its units can belong to investors. Also, the condo association must be in good financial shape, with at least 85 percent of owners up-to-date on association fees. Pretty tough rules for this market! And I'm being told it's unethical for me to walk away from my mortgage.
I have been working with CitiMortgage since 2009 when my husband and I both lost our jobs. It took a little over a year to modify my 1st mortgage without any help from citi. They convieniently "lost" my paperwork and kept denying us. Despite off thier obstacles, we did it. Now the second is still floating around and I can't get anyone to give me a straight answer. They say it was charged off but I keep getting Dodd Frank certification letters. to sign. I have now signed six copies and faxed and mailed them all to citimortgage yet I have yet to get any further response. THE BANKS DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE HOMEOWNER AND ARE IGNORING ABUSING THE GUIDELINES SET FORTH BY THE GOVERNMENT. THIS MUST STOP NOW!!! WE JUST WANT TO KEEP OUR HOMES!!!!
I have been sending proof that I can make a modified payment 36 months they have drug this out . they will not budge.just file bankruptcy.its my only payment.why isn't our Gov. helping the people? how about that TO help HUH
I agree with Dave- I've been reading to educate myself on loan mods and there are some angry people about to snap. I wouldn't be surprised if they started burning bank owned properties and such. Stock up on ammo, water and food- I sense people are about to snap- rioting and chaos will ensue and the political crooks and banks will scratch their heads and wonder what happened to all their material belongings and power that they sold their souls to obtain. It's really sad and I feel so much for all these people as many are being pushed to their limits. I'm very worried about what I'm sensing.
I'm a Community Organizer in New york. Right now i'm working with the community in Central Islip, NY, in Long Island, and I can't believe how outrageous FORECLOSURE is right now. This town look like a ghost town. It is about 350 and some home in fioreclosure and almost 30 of them is on Chase. Chase is the WORSE along with wells Fargo, Bank of America and City Bank. They are down for people to lose their homes, they have no intention or what so ever to help people out. People's home values down more than half of what the original price was and the bank still wants us to pay the full morgage. Congress you have not done your job.
What the hell is it going to take for the American people to see that we are all being played for fools by OUR government?? Have been a victim of fraud with Litton Loan Servicing , my husband w/ Specialized Loan Servicing, & Select Portfolio Services. Wake up Congress, you need the middle class around, someones got to pay taxes. You will help other countries in need, but your own children are uneducated & starving & being forced from their homes, when lenders are misappropriating funds. God Bless those who hunger & thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied!
What is it gonna take for us to be heard? We are all in the same situation so why can't our Gov't help us? THEY enabled the banks to ruin us!! Slowly and painfully.
I been trying to modified my mortgage loan through Chase for almost two years now. After a year and half of trying and producing the same documents as per their request month after month after month, they have denied my request. It is apparent that they do not want to offer homeowner's any assistance in keeping their homes.
Sorry - but in Yorkville Il, I see so many families who are upside down on their loans(including me) that choose to stop paying their mortgage(NOT ME) send their kids to piano, horse back riding, buy cars, take trips, have lots of local fun and NOT pay so that they can "qualify" to get the modification. This system is being abused. There needs to be better checks and balances done. It sickens me to see our country own people try to take advantage of what's out there for people who really need it. How about the people who walk from their homes and are "renting" them to others for cash untill they get final notice from the bank. Our system needs help - it's being abused just like when we all bought our homes. Wells Fargo filled out a "lease" on our old house for us to push our mortgage thru to buy our new home. We had no idea what they did - we were stuck putting everything we had into 2 mortgages that drained us in order to keep our credit good we borrowed form family and friends and are still trying to pay the loans down. Thanks for the scam Wells Frago - it nearly ruined my family. Please look at the abuse going on here.
BofA should be shame lies no help after months of paying on time sent me a letter telling me what a value costomer,but we can't help you because you have private lender. Who is it, we can't disclosed. Also tried modifications a year ago a nightmare no results after months no return calls, lost documents,lies.

If I can pay 6% and the bank makes $300,000.00 interest on my house then I can afford (they say I can't) to pay 3% and they can accept $150,000.00 profit. It is either going to be this way or calamitous days ahead are in store. If the banks say oor finances won't allow us a lower % interest but a huge profit for them then there is something wrong, terribly wrong with the process. Please fix it before there are more homeless than the jails can house, and a military of paid volunteers, who almost lost that pay-did you see their faces when they were told? they were coup ready...You better fix this and bring back a Republic with a draft of National Service after HS in order to vote, get SS, or any public job. (Everyone ahoould see the film "Inside Job"....)
