Dear President Barak Obama, Please be advised and informed of the following facts concerning the Shingle Springs Miwok Indian Tribe. Some number of years ago the Shingle Springs Miwok Indian Tribe (Eldorado County Ca.) allowed the (homeless band of Verona Indians) temporary shelter upon their Ancestral Reservation Land. As reward for this act of Human Kindness, the homeless band of Verona Indians by means of several criminal acts fraud, conspiracy, deceit and treachery. misrepresented themselves as members of the Shingle Springs Miwok Tribe and caused the building of a casino (Redhawk) upon the Shingle Springs Reservation. Adding insult to injury the casino is sueing the Chief of the Shingle Springs Miwok Tribe for copyright infringement questioning his Ancestral claim as Chief of the Shingle Springs Miwok Tribe. Having stolen their sacred lands now the Casino owners/operators wish to steal their heritage and human dignity. Please know No damages are claimed in this frivolous law suit which greatly taxes the improvised tribes limited resources. To enforce their criminal acquisition of reservation land the casino operators employ members of the (booze-fighters and hells angels clubs.) Intimidation threats badgering even not allowing tribal members access to their own reservation lands with physical force in overwhelming numbers by the(booze-fighters and hells angels security force}. the chief deterrent to any peaceful protests or picketing by Tribal Members many of which live in abject fear and poverty absent shelter, running water, electricity and now deprived of their heritage,(their Pride and Human Dignity)suffer much. Knowing human nature as you do you can well imagine this situation can not long endure without further traded befalling the Shingle Springs Miwok Tribe. Please know the local authorities and the Bureau of Indian Affairs side with the money citing matters as internal tribal affairs. This posture supports the continued abuse of the Shingle Springs Miwok Tribe, while simultaneously denying the tribe Equal Protection and Due Process of Law, leaving the tribe with no effective legal remedy available to them. For these reasons we implore you the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, to by any means necessary, issue interim emergency orders to protect and preserve and to provide legal remedy to the Shingle Springs Miwok Indian Tribe and similarly situated tribes.

I'm against what the DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR AND BUREAU OF INDIAN AFFAIRS HAS DONE TO US ORIGINAL MIWOK INDIANS AND THE GREED OF OTHER'S WHO ARE STAKING CLAIM TO OUR MIWOK ENTITLEMENT AND RECOGNITION. US ELDERS ARE GETTING OLDER, BUT WE NEED THIS FOR OUR CHILDREN. This is all wrong. We are the originals, my father, his father, grandmothers, great grandmothers, we need medical attention also. My daughter has advanced breast cancer, and a some would have been taken care of already, but we are still discriminated even in getting medical attention, that is why we are a dying race, and nobody cares as long as they are reaping the rewards. HR.3742 HR3697 and S.1703 only protects the BIA and Department of Interior failures and makes all the corruption unaccountable. I am a BIA Documented Miwok. The Corruption is ridiculous. I am a mother of 3 beautiful children. We are being Excluded... My tribe all of us. Pre-Historic Shingle Springs Miwoks

I could write volumes about our experiences with one band of Indians who were federally recognized around 1970. These were not Mission Indians (even a letter from the BIA acknowledges they were not MIs) but they have managed to get away with obtaining a reservation and have a small casino on it. Approx 8 months ago we asked for a "takings assessment" from the BIA but, of course, to date they have not responded. It has been a cover up for 35 years. I am thrilled that someone is asking for an investigation into the practices of the DOI/BIA. We even went to Washinmgton and met with Sec Kempthorne's top legal person. One year later they had not responded to our requests. Then,of course, Salazar took over so Kempthorne was off the hook.
Wish I could be there next week but I have an ill husband I must stay home and take care of.
I have many stories about this tribe that go back 35 years and how they have treated Non Indians in the community.

After two yrs. of investagating "tribal" owned casino's, the out come I have found is: Investers and the tribal council are the ONLY ones that make out financially, (money does not trickle down to tribe), this is why the investers go looking/hunting for these unsuspecting tribes, (investers get "free" non-taxable profit and only have to share w/small (tribal council) group, the term is also known as, Reservation shopping, and these predator's aka, investor's, have to be stopped.
