It's happening everywhere...violent crimes against children with minimal sentences, for instance, in South Carolina a REGISTERED CHILD SEX OFFENDER has been granted custody of a minor child and referred to as "an excellent role model" in family court documents! The mother suffered a false allegation which she was cleared of by Family Court itself, yet the court granted custody to the CHILD SEX OFFENDER father anyway. We hear the "system" referred to all the time as a "broken system", yet nothing is done to FIX IT! We, the people, have to KEEP SPEAKING UP until our children's God-given rights to be protected are in force and thieves of those rights are brought to TRUE JUSTICE!

FOR WHAT, SO HE CAN DO IT TO OTHER CHILDREN. THIS EPIDEMIC IS GLOBAL. BUT AS AMERICANS, MUST SHOW THE WE ARE NOT GOINT TO TOLERATE IT. WE AS NEIGHBORS IN OUR NEIGHBORHOODS TURN OUR BACK TOO OFTEN. EVEN IN OUR GOVERNMENT OFFICES. THEY ARE DOING THE SAME THING TO OUR CHILDREN. THE TEACHERS IN OUR SCHOOLS. IN OUR CHURCHES. YES WE MUST PUT THEM OUT FRONT, EXPOSE THEM. NO SEGREGATED AREAS, WHAT PROTECTION DO THEY NEEDS. THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE RIGHTS. FOR WHAT, TO STRIP THE INNOCENSE OF OUR CHILDREN. WE ARE SUPPOSE TO EMBRACE CHILDREN. Children are our angels and we need to love them not hurt them. My friend lost his son to abuse and it's horrible ... how much of a sad THING could you be to hurt such a small defenseless human being.
my son was raped by his father and i had him at the hospital within 12 hours afterwards and i am told that he could get away with it if the evidence is not there? worse yet they tell me he could get visitation with my child? WTF is that all about?????
I live in Ohio we are saturated with Sexual predators in my area. We have one that is housing the others ( 8 and most tier III). They are near our parks and Headstart and next to our bus stops. I have questioned how we can allow this. Our law is that they have to be 1,000 ft. from preschools our law enforcement told me headstart was a gray area. I wanted answers I wanted them to show me the gray area in the law no one could do this. To top it off the Predators have a telescope on the second floor of there balcony. In fear for the children of my community I have been working to have them evicted they are breaking the law no one seems to care. I need help with this before someone reoffends. Help me save a
child! I will be glad to help your State I think is should be a nation wide war against these sickos!!
I'd love to see this go through - and then get it started for CA. I'm sick of being tolerant of individuals that feel that it is okay to abuse children. No,Florida is not paradise,nor is any other state in this matter. Child predators are everywhere and children are not safe.Day in and day out and a child is snatched. It's an easy task for them...unfortunately. A child can be in their own home,in their own and they are easy prey to these so called "rehabilitated" offenders.

After watching the Shaniya Davis case, it has really affected me as a mother. Our children are not safe...look what is happening to these innocent babies! It seems that there has been a rise of lil children missing, harmed, abused (sexual & physical) I could go on and on but what I would like to see is real justice get done. Don't waste time just do it!!!
I was raped when I was 11 by a previously convicted child molester. I was scared to testify so his charge was dropped to lewd and lacivious acts on a minor, and he was released a few years later. Our family was not notified when he was released because of a threat my father made on his life. He has since been caught buying alcohol for minors - it's clear what his intentions were had he not got caught at that point. How many lives do we have to let these monsters destroy before we put a stop to it? I have a 4 year old child and I am so scared for his innocence and his life, because they let these sorry excuses for human beings roam the streets freely. It is absolutely disgusting. If someone is capable of doing something so sickening to an innocent child, there is no rehabilitation possible.
I agree as well it amazes me howthey let child offenders out of jail period, if they do it once and go to jail they will do it agian it takes a sick individual to harm a child in any way and i dont see where there is rehabilatation for that.

No child should be hurt. I was abused as a child and no one helped me. I was raped and physically abused beginning at age 6. There is so much violence against children. The offenders should never, ever be allowed to walk the streets. This nonsense has to stop. How many children have to die?

My ex- husband molested my daughter when she was 11 and was only sent to prison for 5 yrs.and was out in 2 and half yrs later. He should of got life!I think every State needs tougher laws.
This petition is a great idea and I hope it helps make a difference but this is a problem in every state. Not just Florida even though it is showing up more in Florida for some reason. So sad.
The punishment for harming a child is very minimal. It is sickening to know that someone can hurt a child physically and emotionally(the rest of thier life) if they survive the assault. And nothing really happens to the offender/predator. Just a few years behind bars then out liveing a normal life. How disheartening. It's time the leaders step up and protect our children. STOP LETTING OUR CHILDREN DOWN! Make thier punishment more severe.

After spending one year in jail he moved to another county and is registered in that county. He works in our county, but is no longer rigistered here. I feel it is necessary to have sex offenders register in the county at which the crime was committed, the county at which he/she lives and the countys at which he/ she works. We must protect our children. If everyone becomes more awre of who these people are then maybe it will make a difference. October was domestic violence awareness month; how much did yu hear about that? this is a serious problem and we need to put a stop to it. Sex offenders are sex offenders; there is no fixing them.

I agree that Florida needs to clearly define the classification of offenders and then the ones who commit any type of sexual offense (other than relationships between teenagers) expecially crimes against children should never be released from prison because most of the time when they are released they eventually offend again.
I agree that the system is completely flawed and that something MUST be done IMMEDIATELY. As a new mom, I am completely horrified at the current state of affairs with regards to crimes against children not only in Florida, but across our entire country.
The state of Florida is in a state of crisis. It is a sad day when families like mine are scared to even take their kids out trick-or-treating in the smallest county in Florida, because of the fear of our children being taken by one of these sick people. We need tougher laws and more clear laws. Put more focus on crimes committed against small children and less on the 19 yr old that has a 16 yr old girlfriend!! I want more clear classification so I know which offenders put my children at more risk!!
We have to do something with these sick people. So congress must get another setup. Never let them out of jail.Or send them to the war..and let it scare them or if we are lucky, a bullet would catch him, right between the eyes.......
I think they should be seperated crimes against children should be in their own catergory from the teens who are having sex and probably go to the same school. Pedophiles can not be cured so should not be released on our children to offend again.
