For centuries our people have been persecuted and denied their rights and freedom. Unlike so many other ethnic groups, you do not hear the cries and complaints of our people. The genocide that has been brought upon our people is like no other. The Assyrian culture is rich with knowledge that has been given to the world. I beg of you, and call upon you, to request that the Assyrians be given their own region in northern Irag, according to the federal system in the Iraqi constitution. So many American soldiers died, so many familes are without their love ones because they fought in our wars. Don't let their deaths be in vain. Give peace to ALL people of Irag. US and Iraqi policies caused the indigenous Iraqi people to be killed, kidnapped, raped, uprooted from their ancestral land, and yet these policies are still not corrected and damages are not reversed. The US and Iraqi have the moral responsibility to protect indigenous Iraqi people, empower them through Iraqi constitution, should have reserved seats (quota) on all governmental positions (from presidential council and downward), damages must be reversed or compensated, and apology should be officially issued by both government to the Iraqi indigenous.
