Banning Clove Cigarettes is just plain unamerican because it is taking away the freedom of an adult citizen of the USA for purposes that don't match the intent. May justice prevail and freedom reign.
I still dont understand why they would ban all clove cigaretts when infact there are stores which sell hookah,pipes and such. Also in some states marijuana is legal. I agree with the words of the commentar as he/she wrote that we are thrilled about our freedom,however it should be our freedom of choice to smoke flavored cigarettes and not resposible for the store clerks actions on violating the sell of cigarettes to minors. I have been smoking for almost 12 years and my first cigarette was a Marlboro Light. I enjoyed Camel Exotic Cigarettes very much but I still smoked Camel Wides at the same time. Flavors don't make things more appealing to children. Personal experiences do. If your friend is smoking chances are that you might as well. Whether or not it is flavored or not. Taking flavors away from cigarettes is like taking flavors away from soda. Would you enjoy Coca Cola/Pepsi as your only option as a soda and the rest are illegal? Cigarettes should not be held to a higher standard than alcohol. Alcoholic beverages are flavored and cigarettes should be allowed to as well. They are both legal for adults and should be able to be enjoyed any way we see fit.
Cigarettes are not illegal and clove cigarettes shouldn't be treated as such. The ban doesn't seem to support the intention of stopping teens from smoking. They're not supposed to buy cigarettes and it's been proven that menthols make up most of the preferred brand so it makes since if there's to be a ban, ban those that more people smoke.
Should we forbid people to have kids because there are pedophiles on the streets? I sure don't think so, intending on solving the real problem by addressing in a medieval way won't cut it anymore.. Haven't they learned anything yet?
I want my right to choose back. Not that I ever bought flavored cigarettes or anything, but as an adult it is silly to not be able to have a right to choose. And I started smoking regular Camels, and not because of some stupid cartoon camel either.

it's ridiculous that they can pick and choose which flavors to ban. why don't you ban menthols? is it because way more people smoke menthols and you know you couldn't accomplish banning them without tons of complaints? i'm 23 years old i think i should be able to choose which kind of cigarettes i want to smoke.
Free trade... Menthols are flavored and make up nearly 25% of smokers less than 2% were clove smokers. Ban one, or ban them all! Break this embargo with cloves!
I'm a regular smoker, I smoke about 1 cig a week if not a month. I like to smoke an occassional flavored cigarette and I feel it is my right as a voter and a tax payer. I'm angry that there are more important issues that effect this country other than Cherry flavored cigarettes. How about focusing on teen violence or teen pregnancy. Most of these cigarettes are more expensive and teens go for cheap cigarettes that aren't banned. Give me a break.

I am not a minor and I did not smoke as a minor. I should be able to choose what to smoke as an adult without government interference. 40% of underage smokers smoke menthol. Under 1% of ALL smokers smoke cloves. Why are menthol cigarettes still legal? Why yes, it must be because it makes 'Uncle Sam' money. I can't help but wonder why the FDA is going after the small sales clove cigarette industry and continues to allow the American tobacco companies to add many, many chemicals to be infused into American made cigarettes, and never even lift an eyebrow.

This is a free country and as an adult over 18 my country, The United States and the Constitution allows us all freedom of choice. Clove cigarettes fall within these freedoms.

I've smoked Clove cigarettes for over 20 years...I raised 2 daughters in a house where I smoked yet neither daughter smokes, they never have....Put the pressure on the parents to educate their children about the harmful effects of smoking...And ad in the harmful effects of drinking, fast foods, driving while on the cell phone, etc...Censoring ALL adults on smoking clove cigarettes is a violation of their personal right to choose...Odd, abortion is legal, the complete removal of a living fetus for disposal, yet smoking a clove cigarette is banned...Who the hell decides these ridiculous rules against our rights of choice...Certainly not the public...Indonesia has been exporting Clove cigarettes for many years...Why should they limit their exports to America??? I have yet to hear a news report of a drive by shooting caused because kids were smoking Clove cigarettes...Let us adults decide what we want to smoke, especially in our own homes...Make me question "What's next on the list to ban???

I actually smoke more full flavor and menthol cigarettes now that I am not able to indulge in a few cloves now and then. The only place that has any Djarum product near my area is about a thirty minute drive, and they only have the mini cigar ones now which taste like garbage. I miss my clove cigarettes.
I live in Indiana where clove cigarettes have been banned and now only a cigar type is available that has a different taste and burn. I do not believe your job is to deny adults their right to selection of brands based on conjecture that people under smoking age will be rescued from smoking based on flavored cigarettes. If you did, you would be concerned about the advertising of alcohol and junk food items that affect their health as well and to a greater degree.
Whatever your gripe is with the tobacco industry, denying adults selection is government interference that is unwarranted and a violation of rights.

I think that the reason for allowing menthol cigarettes requires that clove cigarettes be allowed. The fact that the high percentage of an ethnic population's addiction to menthol cigarettes is a far less valid reason than the ethnic origin of clove cigarettes (kretec).
