Ban On Clove and Flavored Cigarettes

It has recently come to my attention that flavored cigarettes, as well as clove cigarettes, are being banned in some states. I am not a smoker, but I have family members who smoke Cloves, and I do not understand the ban. I do not see the danger in cloves, as I myself am not drawn to them simply because they are 'flavored', and I don't know of anyone my age who smokes them, only people who are twenty years my elder. I love my country, and I am thankful for all of the freedom and rights given to me, but I simply do not understand the point of this new law. If minors are somehow getting their hands on cigarettes and other tobacco products, I believe the problem is not the cigarette's flavor, but the carelessness of store clerk's who are not IDing people. I ask that you reconsider this new law, as it's a violation of our rights promised to us as American citizens. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Cigarettes should not be held to a higher standard than alcohol. Alcoholic beverages are flavored and cigarettes should be allowed to as well. They are both legal for adults and should be able to be enjoyed any way we see fit.

Cigarettes are not illegal and clove cigarettes shouldn't be treated as such. The ban doesn't seem to support the intention of stopping teens from smoking. They're not supposed to buy cigarettes and it's been proven that menthols make up most of the preferred brand so it makes since if there's to be a ban, ban those that more people smoke.

I want my right to choose back. Not that I ever bought flavored cigarettes or anything, but as an adult it is silly to not be able to have a right to choose. And I started smoking regular Camels, and not because of some stupid cartoon camel either.

This ban is silly and whoever is responsible for this bill should feel ashamed.

They were banned "for the children" - so I suppose now that these flavored cigarettes have been banned for awhile "Youth smoking" has entirely disappeared or been curbed significantly, right?

Oh, turns out younger smokers aren't really that picky about the flavor, who would've thought?

This is supposed to be a free country, people should have the choice to purchase whatever flavor of cigarette they want. It just doesn't make sense why they would ban cloves, yet do nothing about menthols.

banning Clove cigarettes is ridiculous! There are so many other flavored cigarettes out there like Prime Times, Menthol's and numerous more and why is it still legal to sell Clove Cigars?? It should be our choice to smoke whatever kind of cigarette we want and isn't fare to only ban one kind!!! PLEASE remove this ban and give me my serenity back!!

This ban effectively turned America into the ONLY country in the world where citizens are NOT free to choose:( I have been forced to inhale clove CIGARS. Please revoke this ban, save my health & save this 48-year old's freedom. By the way, as a teenager, I smoked Marlboro's. Cloves were NOT my "gateway" to addiction.

it's ridiculous that they can pick and choose which flavors to ban. why don't you ban menthols? is it because way more people smoke menthols and you know you couldn't accomplish banning them without tons of complaints? i'm 23 years old i think i should be able to choose which kind of cigarettes i want to smoke.
