The great American Healthcare should be exactly the same for Congress, Senate, etc. Who made them better than us, oh that's right, they did....
This is obvious - you vote it, you also own it - you get the same coverage as your constituents... Hypocrisy isn't attractive on any level and your constituents are not stupid... at least not all of us.
I agree the current house and senate plans are too complicated. The exsisting federal plans would need some work too. My family had federal employee insurance in the past, and there are a confusing number of plans available, and the premium cost of the best plans is high (over $900 a month for family of 4). Maybe the plan options could be reduced to the highest quality selections and American's who can't afford the plans could recieve a subsidy toward the premiums, which should go down with more people paying in.
If it's good enough for you it's good enough for us too! READ the junk you are trying to shove down our throats. Do you want that plan for your family? If so then YOU go first, YOU try this plan then we'll talk.
If it's good enough for you who work for us remember, it's good enough for us too!
It makes sense, it would be good, just, rational and in the Public Interest. It promotes choice with the Public Option. Those that don't want it, don't need to take or have. No one is forced. End the lies and intentional misinformation ! Congress pass it now! Wake - Up And act in the public interest!
Come on guys...America DOES NOT want your plan!
whatever plan is good enough for the elected reps is good enough for me
Or better yet, require them to secure their own insurance and pay for it like the rest of us do. They can then "reap" the benefits they think are going to "help" everyone with their new healthcare plan. They are no better than the deadbeats that live off of those of us who actually work for a living and EXPECT us to pick up the tab for them.
I certainly don't want the healthcare reform that President Obama is offering.
They should practice what they preach. I should apply to ALL elected official.
If the "KISS" concept (Keep It Simple Stupid) ever applied to congress and public policy, it seems to apply quite well here. Suspect it could be accomplished in a one paragraph addition to the current congressional insurance plan. Now that's a "universal" health care plan that's certain to enjoy universal support.
I'm happy to see my cousin's supporting this agenda...however, lets not stop at healthcare. We also want the incomes, retirement, and vacation plans provided to government employees. Their average earnings are 51% higher than the private sector and considering the #1 employer in this country does not contribute to social security what would happen if they did? Utilizing simple math...20 million employees contributing 7.51% and matched by the employer (Uncle Sam) X the average hourly pay X 40 hrs etc generates $235 trillion dollars...If I utilize my fourth grade math class lessons I see enough money being generated for "everyone" to have complete healthcare coverage and SS having enough money to cover the baby boomers...
"If you're going to fix it, it's not going to come in four pages. The last Harry Potter book was 700 pages." -Democratic Rep. Chris Murphy on health-care reform, after House Democrats spent five hours studying their 1,000 page proposal. (Newsweek. Aug. 10, 2009. 17.)
All Americans deserve the same healthcare coverage and premiums as our elected officials. Come on people, let's keep it simple, affordable and easy.
What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Our elected officials should never forget what it is like in the real world, and keeping them on the same medical care playing field as their constituents is an excellent exercise to keep them tuned in.
I beleive the developoment of a health care system that works for every man/woman/child in the USA should be a priority to us all. While I understand that we have to make cost control part of that reform, I don't believe it should come at the expense of limited access to thorough qualtiy healthcare that is delivered in a timely manner. Nor
do I believe that Americans should lose the right to choose their healthcare providers, or the right to choose how their health care will go. There is no excuse for anything less in this country. Reform of our healthcare system should be thoughtful, not pushed ahead to meet anyone's political agenda. It's to important. Keep the bean counters, insurance companies out of it, put on the panel leaders/innvators in healthcare itself. And oh by the way, how many more people could afford to take the medications they have ordered for them if the drug companies weren't charging such crazy prices for medications.
