The overpayment of 50-60 BILLION dollars and "worksharing rebates" which in 2008 amounted to $100 MILLION in overpayments as well as "mailers and MSPs earned $15 billion in discounts in FY 2008 for engaging in worksharing activites that may have dost them only $4.3 billion". These monies in FY 2008 would, if returned and not paid would bring back to the USPS a total of $70 BILLION DOLLARS and that does not include the MILLIONS in overpayments and fines paid by the USPS. END the bailouts to corporations and the government by the USPS.
the postal service isnt hurting for money.PMG Potter gave himself a 5.0% increase in 2010, approx $13,265.00. Our plant manager also recieved a 7.50% increase in 2010, approx $8,400.00. Check public records for yourself
Now more than ever since the great depresstion has the working man needed to count on the money and benifits when they retire than now. DON'T TAKE THIS AWAY FROM THE BACK BONE OF THE POSTAL SERVICE, THE ONE WHO HAVE GIVEN YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE POSTAL SERVICE AND TO THE COUNTRY.
Nothing good can come from this anti labor amendment. If this amendment is passed it will cause a catastrophic domino effect on not only the postal workers of this great nation but their families. this is a move in the wrong direction for so many reasons!
because it will force my family and friends to go to welfare with the income loss
Going to a five day will affect many families all over the united states. More people will go on welfare and it will affect our economy even more.

As a retired director of labor relations,I believe the privacy of employees must be protected and this bill removes that protection and could endanger those employees who choose not to vote union.
Everyone was upset by financial institutions giving management a large bonus. THe legislation should also prohit postal management from recieving them.
Mystery shop program costs millions each year yet that program does not bring in millions in revenue so if we cut there we would save a little.
The USPS could save itself financially with just a few simple changes. For example promotions based on job knowledge not freindship, ELIMINATE contracts from other corporation such as Miritz(Mystery Shop Program)and IBM, This company checks to see how long it takes a letter to get from point A to point B. These two programs can be done within the company its called quality control. However if management is not trained how can quality control take place? We need less management and better structure in each Post Office Less MICROMANAGEMENT and certainly not S.1507. If someone can vote themselves more money why take mine.
IF MANAGEMENT WOULD STOP GIVING THEMSELVES LARGE BONUSES $$$$ AND STOP BUYING HOUSES UP TO 3 MILLION DOLLARS WHEN THEY RELOCATE WOULD HELP THE USPS financial state.......
Vote against S.1507
Jul 30, 2009: Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. Ordered to be reported with amendments favorably. I am watching the choices that you are making with great interest. I am fed up with the assault on organized labor in this country...with the executives all taking bonuses for running companies and agencies into the ground. If you want the consumer to spend--we have to have the disposable income to do so...so let us keep our jobs and stop the rampant abuse of power by the incompetent muckety-mucks.

The Union Workers have been under constant attack recently and passage of this bill will only bring more pain and abusive tactics against the hard working Union people of this country. Please vote against this bill as it will only hurt the people that work very hard everyday for this nation. Money that is taken from us goes to the top. We are not stupid.
QUIT SCREWING WITH US LOWER PAID EMPLOYEES GO AFTER THE BIG WIGS THAT GET PAID TO RIDE AROUND TO DIFFERENT OFFICES AND CHIT CHAT WITH THE PM. WE HAVE LOST ENOUGH...GO AFTER PM, SUPERVISORS OR EVEN POTTER.
Please vote NO. The po has allowed 2 billion in bonuses for postmasters this year. WE need to start at the top to trim the fat not at the bottom where the workers actually work
