Obama's health care plan is TERRIBLE. He is getting way into our own personal business, he needs to back off! WE as Americans should choose who our doctors our. WE as Americans should have a say in what happens to us. WE as Americans have a right to live. Obama is taking away our CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS. Don't let him do that! I am 20 years old and I'm afraid for my future just because of this man's 4 years .. yes 4 years .. because there is NO WAY he is getting re-elected! I will not let my country endure another 4 years of hell! It's hasn't even been a year yet and look what he's done to this country! Don't let this keep happening. SAVE AMERICA!
You have to be kidding -- removing our choice of the type of practitioner (e.g. optometrist versus ophthalmologist) means patients go to the most expensive practitioner. Hardly a prescription for cutting costs or improving quality of care.
Not only is non-discrimination required for a healthy health care system, but ALL physicians, yes that includes allopathic as well, must be reimbursed at the same rate (per RVU).
Insurers (all payors including government) need to be required to follow CPT without being allowed to redefine (as in LCD's) the code to their advantage.

there should be no healthcare reform without tort reform and lower insurance costs for Doctors. seems like the only people making sacrifices here are the middle class. Doctors, Lawyers and Drug companies must be part of this reform for it to work and currently they are not.

Do we really want the government in charge of our healthcare? Look how they are handling Medicare, it's almost bankrupt. And if this healthcare reform is so wonderful, why will the Federal government (including all of our lawmakers) be exempt from it for atleast 5 years? Tell our lawmakers to vote NO to preserve our freedom of choice. The government should not be the one who decides whether we can have a medical procedure or not, that should be between the doctors and ourselves.
If you want to fix something that is broken try looking within. The way the federal government operates is a disgrace. The vast majority are satisfied with their healthcare. Try fixing Medicare, Medicade & Social Security to start.

Optometry serves as primary eye care providing preventative eye care to many areas of medicine, helping to defray costs and access to eye care throughout the nation, and serve as the main points of contact for visual impairment and blind rehabilitation and rehabilitation of the many ocular sequelae of traumatic brain injury.
